Don’t stress yourself if you get notified later this month the worst is you lose a deposit at the other school. Hunter has no deposit due to Covid so you can just jump right in with getting this rolling.

Hey I have a question if you don't mind me asking. I know online for the OYR track they have ppl taking 3 classes each of the first 2 semesters and taking 2 in the summer and 15 credits the second year. Do ppl typically stick to the outlined/suggested class schedule. I was thinking about taking my electives earlier so i don't have 15 credits the second year so i can study for the licensing exam. My coworker graduated from hunter a few years ago and just passed the exam. But she said i should take the exam right away, and you can take the exam up 3 months prior to graduating.

Yes ppl did. Even ppl who already were admitted and acepted the offer. I even saw on gradforum someone was rejected in February and still received that email. smh i know that was like ripping the Band-Aid off a hairy arm.

FYI the financial aid office has started sending out financial aid offers. Mines was in my email, and on the financial aid part of CUNY First. Best of luck to everyone. See you in the fall

Okay I figured it out hunter waived deposit because of COVID. So when you accept a offer you not enrolled until they receive a deposit on tuition. Since there is no deposit they are sending an additional form (acknowledgment form) in place of it. This form holds your spot for fall 2021 rosters. Once you send that back you get a response that your welcome package will arrive in April etc.

Sorry to hear what you all all going through at Columbia. Higher education shouldn’t be so political. Allow individuals to make a living wage while they learn. A satisfied customer will always return. When you have 300 million you can pay lawyers and consultants to get rid of bad press. So sad to see especially in the social work field. We (sw community) should be setting an example. Hope things improve. Wish y’all the best.

If tuition is not a factor its pretty hard to decide. They both have good and respected clinical practices. One thing i will say if you plan on going into private practice the NYU name will bring in more clients. If you plan on running a non profit Hunter is a great choice because of their progressive background. Silberman is on the upper east side. NYU is in lower manhattan in a trendy neighborhood. Its a hard choice. Hope you are satisfied with whatever choice you make.
