Hey guys! I'm freaking out too but gentle reminder that UA has completely changed their admissions process this year and, even without that, has been really variable with respect to when they send out admissions offers over the last 5 years Also remember that most schools outside of Ontario send admissions out in waves! (eg last year UA accepted someone on the 13th after sending out what looks like most of their offers on the 9th, UBC almost always doesn't send them all at once, and it looks like dal sent offers out over the course of 2-3 weeks last year) If it helps you can set emails from the admissions officers to re-direct to a different inbox so you can check at your leisure if you, like me, have to check you email during exams in the coming weeks Good luck!!

You're not alone! I am having such a hard time focusing, working and not driving my bubble crazy by only talking about admissions

Makes sense! I didn't apply to UofT but I did look at the Western site, which just says a minimum B average over your last 10 courses. Easy enough! I was just curious if they could consider rescinding an application if your SubGPA dropped after your last classes or something, but it sounds like a lot of schools don't even look at it until the program has already begun

Hey! I applied to more than one school but I also had a bad third year that really affected my ORPAS subGPA. You're not alone, I hear you! It's frustrating, especially when these things are beyond our control now. Clinic volunteering can be a great way to improve an application, crossing my fingers for you. Best of luck

Awesome, thanks! Super appreciative of the current students who peruse this thread. I guess they just want to make sure you graduated then, makes sense!

Haha omg... this has crossed my mind before. Not going to do it but I am also checking my email obsessively. I keep telling myself that there's no way they'll send decisions over the weekend and I should just completely log out of my email but honestly, I'll still probably check

Does anyone know, if you get an an acceptance while you are finishing your degree, how 'conditional' is it on your performance in you classes in your final semester (assuming they aren't pre-reqs)? I intend to do well in my classes haha but curious how closely they look

Best of luck! I'm hoping other schools offer a more balanced consideration of our application.

I hope so! Based on your handle it sounds like you're from Alberta, have you applied there? It sounds like they're still placing weight on it as well. There's still hope for us!

Yeah, it's really frustrating to read that U of T has dismissed it all togehter, and now I'm worried about my western app. I completely understand and respect that it was really hard for some people. That being said, balancing volunteering with school is tough and it seems that the fair thing for those who have spent years volunteering or even acquired paid positions would be the make the evaluation either/or, not to dismiss it altogether

I got a letter of reference from an SLP. I had asked her in 2019 or early 2020 (can't remember) and their site indicated that it was ok if you had made prior arrangements. Wow, that's pretty crazy! If anyone has asked Western the same thing I'd love to know what they said

I was planning on off-campus if that's where I end up - it's a central campus anyways and it does seem cheaper than res

Mine is not but it looks like last year some people were accepted with their portals still in pre-screening, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it (although I know that's easier said than done)

Nice! I go back and forth between UAlberta, UBC and Western. Almost hoping the choice will be made for me (but not really)

Thank you for the update about UBC! I was curious where they were in their process, although historically it seems like we have at least 3 more weeks before they would be sending out their very first acceptances

I nearly didn't apply to UBC despite being from BC because they pre-reqs are so specific! It's pretty crazy how particular they are, but it does give them sort of a unique way to calculate admissions GPA (if I'm not mistaken it's just GPA over those courses)

Does anyone know which schools release waitlist positions vs just telling you you're waitlisted? Just curious

Hey all! People who have received interview offers, waitlists (?) and formal rejections (me lol) to Mac should think about adding it formally on the results portal so that next year's applicants have a more streamlined way of checking the timeline. Best of luck to everyone - getting the email this morning was a disappointing even though I knew my chances were slim to none. There's a right program for you out there, keep it up
