  1. Maybe I am confused, is that spreadsheet for the same student award competition that I am part of? There are so many Fulbright streams that I sometimes get confused. This is the timeline I am working on: https://www.fulbright.ca/programs/canadian-students/traditional-awards/important-dates I don't expect to hear anything for quite a while yet.
  2. I am surprised that there is not more activity here. I'm applying too. We'll see how it all goes!
  3. I am hesitant to be overly pessimistic here, but this seems to be a larger trend in academia. While our personal experiences, perspectives and challenges should of course frame the context of our applications for these sorts of things, it's a real bummer that many of these contests have been essentially reduced only to these factors.
  4. I have not. Not yet anyway. I recieved an auto reply email that said it would take 10 business days to get back to me.
  5. Incredible that there are so many of us, just even among this forum. Very curious to hear what they say. My guess is that they will convert our awards into regular Doctoral Awards, but for the four years instead of the three envisioned by the CGS-D ones.
  6. I'm in the same boat here. Though, if you read the CGS eligibility very carefully it is actually confusing and makes no sense. It is clear that it must apply to a Canadian institution, but otherwise very vague in terms of applicant eligibility.
  7. So far I've been able to distill the following from everyone's comments and observations: (1) We will be issued the results on a separate web platform than the one we submitted our application through; (2) We do not yet have access to that platform, but we will be given access a few days before we receive the results; (3) Some of us may receive access and/or results as early as April 26 or 27, but likely not. The most likely scenario is that we will receive these results on the 29th or 30th, and potentially as late as the 4th or 5th of May; and (4) There does not appear to be any rational basis for when certain people receive access or results in relation to others. So, with that, I'd say, distract the mind with other things and tune back into SSHRC land late next week to see what might have changed. Best of luck to all.
  8. The answer to this question might be obvious to others, but the email we received on the 6th tells us that we will receive a "separate system-generated notification with steps on how to activate [our] extranet account[s]". Is this the email we will be receiving at the end of April, or should we expect yet another "heart attack" email in the interim? I recognise that we all submitted our applications through the "SSHRC Web Portal", but it is not apparent that this is the same as the "extranet for applicants". Thoughts?
  9. During a time where so many are facing such difficulty and struggle, your cavalier spending aspirations are insensitive and amount to violence.
  10. Rent!? Food!? Now that is the type of frivolous spending I was hoping to spotlight here. My understanding is that the CGS-D cannot be applied for (or received) separately from the Doctoral Award. Am I wrong on this? If so, I can think of no other thread worthy of calling home in your case; particularly in light of your proposed lavish lifestyle.
  11. What do you guys want to talk about until then? I vote we just list frivolous consumer purchases that we will make should we be blessed enough to receive the grant.
  12. @Kkp No, the application disappeared in November/December at some point, leaving only the CV. At least in my case it did. I would not be terribly concerned about this. It seems as if this is part of the process.
