thanks for saying that. it’s just been a rough season, i got rejected from everywhere and waitlisted there (emory). i emailed them twice (right after i got the news and a month later to follow up) to say how excited was about the possibility of going there. but i let it go and understood it may not work out. when they emailed me a couple days ago asking me if i’d accept an offer i was over the moon, i thought there would be no way they’d ask me that unless they were almost 100% sure. i’m just so crushed 😕 i feel like how they handled it was really mean. it’s like why ask me if i would go? why not just wait till the deadline to let me know? even if i were to have gotten in and rejected the offer, they could have just asked the next person! like wtf. they only had 3 spots and interviewed 16 people !

i was on the waitlist for a phd and they emailed me the night of april 13 saying it was likely that they will let in one person waitlisted and asked me if i would accept if i was offered. i said i would likely accept. today they emailed me and said that i am rejected. i feel like their email on the 13 was cruel, am i being crazy

my guess is they are salty that iowa has (slightly) more black professors and students ? , but just a guess ( can confirm many a white man were admitted tho ??? )

i heard about poetry last tuesday! in an email they said that all acceptances go out by march 25
