I got in at Minnesota but they aren’t releasing merit scholarships until mid-March.
-
They should let you know in the call and they’ll include a second letter in your portal if you got a scholarship.

Have y'all had any luck with getting the slack invite sent to your uchicago email address? I got both the ID/email address and it doesn't seem to be receiving the slack invite.

I was accepted into the Data Analytics program, I’ve worked for 10 years as a SWE. My academic background is in microbiology and bioinformatics. -

Saaaaame, which means it’s pretty much a no-go. GU and DC are too expensive of a combo without a scholarship. -

Bragging about buying essays when people on this forum are stressing about being able to get in to grad schools after putting an immense amount of effort and time into their own essays is real poor form. The first paragraph on your linked site says this for Christ’s sake, “There is no better news for a student than to hear that you’ll take over their papers while they go to a party or have a night to fully rest.” At the very least don’t advertise for them on this forum by using a link to their site. -
It’s not a problem at all, it just gets a bit dicey from a security perspective with all of that PII being shared on a public forum. I think the perceptive you shared is incredibly useful!

The roommate spreadsheet is fantastic, but I’d recommend taking it down or else all of those peoples’ information (phone, email, etc.) will likely be harvested and used for sales, phishing, or worse.

Georgetown (McCourt) MPP 2022

IIRC, they should be out sometime around mid-January. It’s the next one released after UChicago for me. -
When did you get your apps in for those schools? Are you hitting the early deadlines or the standard ones (with the exception of UMich)? While I can’t say anything in regards to your worthiness of admission, I’ve surfed a lot of these “am I competitive” threads and I haven’t seen anyone else make up for their quant like you did. That is really impressive.

A lot of it will depend on the type of living arrangements you’re gonna make. I’d guess rent and utilities will be around 1500+. If you’re gonna bring a car, that will be a factor as well. Food would be about 2-300 a month depending on how you play it. Then another 300 for just general things. I’m guessing around 2500 a month for me without the inclusion of tuition.

Could we get this topic pinned to the top of the forum like these two results threads: I also think there is some value in having the 2021 Results thread pinned as well.

Makes sense! Which program did you apply for/get accepted to? If you don't mind me asking.

Congrats! That second bit is what I was curious about, but forgot to ask in all of my excitement. Do you remember if the fellowships are something that we can apply for after we're admitted or is it something that's already set in stone?

Though they aren't Chicago, you can also make the deadlines for Michigan (January 15th), Georgetown (January 15th), and CMU (January 10th). I know at least Michigan has the GRE marked as optional, which may be the case for the other two as well.

They left a voicemail saying they wanted to talk about an “update to the status of my application.” They then told me after I called them back. I believe they said the status on the portal will be updated next week, I presume on the 15th, and that’s when my official email will come in as well. Best of luck, y’all!

Did they say they were delaying sending out decisions? As far as I can see on the site, the deadlines are the same. I imagine they got enough applicants in the EA round that they don't have time to look into the Round 1 applicants before sending out offers.

I would definitely agree. Short of confirmation or rejection, official emails are more painful for my hopes than anything else. I get the general sentiment, but surely they know most people that applied are reading these emails with just one thing in mind.

As far as I can tell, they just used a generic email template and sent it on behalf of the Senior Dean. It's basically "{FirstName}, our team has been so impressed while reading Early Action applications. All of our readers have been struck by the resilience, strength, and dedication you have demonstrated in a challenging time, and even more impressed that you are countering these challenges by pursuing public policy." It seems Happy Thanksgiving was the point of it.

It seems like it's very much just a thank you for applying with no real verdict sentiment attached to it.
