  1. Congrats! I think the thing that matters the least is the prestige... unless it is also an institution that has great research, mentors you vibe with, location you'd want to live, good stipend/benefits, career development services, etc. Just try to figure out where you will be the happiest because when it all comes down to it, that'll help you get through the challenges and uncertainty of PhD training. If you study at a prestigious university but have mean or unsupportive mentors, it could turn into one of the worst experiences of your life. I know people that got their PhD from "lower" tier schools and now work as postdocs at top institutions... hope this helps.
  2. Thanks! It was an email from the director. I have not gotten the official letter yet.
  3. Update- I received an acceptance from Georgetown(IPN) today!
  4. I just interviewed last week. They said we could hear back anywhere from 10 days until sometime in April.
  5. they will send update within next two weeks! I found this out in our Slack group
  6. I don't think it's weird. People working on admissions are SOOO busy... they have to manage those getting interviewed, accepted and rejected... it is a lot of work. Just be patient!
  7. Congrats!!! I think being honest is best.. it’s not like they will take back the offer haha.
  8. If you have specific questions regarding the program or something that came up in the interview, I think that is fine. But if you inquire about admission decisions, this may seem pushy. The committees usually meet at certain times to discuss decisions, so some universities might be a little slower. Also, Covid might impact timing of all this too?. I say just try to be patient!
  9. It is basically rolling because once people reject offers, the school will offer admission to someone else on the list. This might not be how every school facilitates the process but I have heard many programs do this.
  10. I heard it takes a month on average... but also, if someone rejects an offer, they go down a list and so you might hear back later.
  11. Super good sign... I don't see why a school would bother sending you anything if they did not anticipate on inviting you to interview, you know?
  12. typically schools cover all costs. I have never heard of schools not paying for these expenses!
