Official rejection from Johns Hopkins on Wednesday (Health Policy PhD, Health and Public Policy track).
Official Acceptance from George Washington today (Health Policy PhD).
I knew the GW acceptance was coming as I have been in discussions with the GWU admissions team about funding for the past few days because I have partial external funding (GI Bill) available and they wanted to make sure their offer would cover the difference.

I received a first (unofficial) acceptance email from a PI at UCLA Epi I interviewed with. Was informed that official letters will come in in a month. I hope they do more reviewing cycles during the upcoming month and send out positive news for those still waiting!
Looking back at my applications and ~20 PIs I mentioned, 5 of them I heard back from weren't hiring (limited funding, affiliation with other departments)/on a Sabbatical. It is my bad that I didn't reach out prior to the application, but I feel like luck (something that I am not in control of) plays a huge role in PhD applications. I was on a letting-go phase where I gave up on all applications due to only 1 interview invite and 2 rejections so far (former post of "rejection=redirection" was something I was telling myself..). So I am pleasantly surprised to have found that one person I had a fitting 'situation' with.
I guess what I want to say is an iteration of what others have been saying: so many uncontrollable factors play a role, so don't be easily disheartened..!  I am sure we will be able to connect in one way or another within the field of public health. My deepest respect to fellow future-researchers!

Not sure if this will help the this site https://www.phdstipends.com/results lists the stipend amount of various schools and programs, maybe you can say “ x school is offering x amount can you match that?”  Worth noting I have no experience negotiating stipends

So I know there’s a range of stipends (usually with cost of living and private vs. public), but I have no idea if you can negotiate them ?

Brown for example is 34,000ish, but this is set by the graduate school so they can’t really change it unless you get a fellowship on top of that?

I really hope it works out for you this year. I love @InEquity's reframing. I want to share my story in case it's helpful. This is my second cycle applying. Last year I applied to a few programs and didn't get in anywhere. I used the year to regroup and re-strategize. So far I've been accepted into three programs, and I'm still in the process of interviewing for a few more. Meanwhile, re: Inequity's point, my partner and I saw this "lost year" as a little unexpected window to start our family. We're expecting our first child in the next few weeks! I really hope it works out for you this year, but if it doesn't, I hope you keep trying! If you end up needing to do this all over again next year and want to talk through application stuff, feel free to reach out. Someone on the forum did this for me last year and it made a huge difference in how I approached my applications this year.

That must be difficult ? I read somewhere that every rejection is a redirection. Maybe something else is in store for you this year.

By the time I knew about this program it already passed the deadline ;-;. Otherwise I would have applied to it. It looks like a really exciting program.

Guess they were quite thrilled to have me. I received an offer of admission today.
    Stats, FWIW:
Undergrad GPA: 3.25, Masters GPA: 3.75 (WES assessment, though they looked at my actual transcripts from my country, which is a scale of 1 to 5, 1 highest) 5+ first author publications in local journal, 2 co-author publications in mid-tier international journal 10-year research and practice experience Funding is guaranteed for the whole 5 years (with a fairly generous first year stipend) but they encourage you to apply for scholarships/grants, which I am happy to do anyway. I will wait for results from the other institutions, but definitely excited with this offer.
Rooting for everyone here! Looking forward to your success stories.

Wasn't trying to be insensitive. DrPH programs are generally intended for working professionals and are more practice-based than research-based overall, and thus follow regular tuition like masters programs eventhough there is a dissertation component. Ph.D programs in public health are inherently research-based, and the assumption is that you're doing research with professors at the school to further their grant goals and thus the university should be expected to pay you and provide full tuition-remittance in return.
If you receive a Ph.D offer of admission without a guaranteed funding package, or a partial funding package, it is implied that the university doesn't really want to invest in you / doesn't want you there. Usually funding packages are what tie you to the department you're working towards your Ph.D in.
Here is a decent reddit thread on the subject:

I'm sure the person didn't mean it that way. But I agree that it's bogus that these DrPH programs are so expensive, yet still have acceptance rates of way less than 10% on average. You'd think since most of these Public Health Schools make their money off MPH students, they'd at least offer more tuition scholarships and waivers, or open up more spots in these part-time programs. Oh well, hopefully we'll see the programs grow with the public health need in the coming years.

New member here, though I've been lurking for a bit. Congrats to those of you who got a UMN HSR acceptance. I didn't get anything sadly but still holding out hope. Just to throw it out there, this is where I'm at. Trying to not read too much into no interviews yet.
Waiting: JHU, UMN, Drexel, Univ of Illinois Chicago (all HSR/health policy)
    Accepted: UTHealth Health Econ/HSR

Another week begins!! Still rooting for everybody here!!

Sorry for being so annoying - but has anyone had any idea of when Harvard PHS releases results? I think this year they release results later than the past trends. It looks like no one has heard from them either officially or unofficially.
