  1. Hi everyone, I'm a current first-year SLP student at Western. It was mentioned today by one of our professors that they had their final meeting this morning to make decisions about acceptances, so you should be hearing shortly I know how stressful the waiting is, hang in there!
  2. Quoting myself to say I just received an offer of admission to Western, and I will be accepting! For reference, I was on the first quadrant of the waitlist. Thank you to everyone on this forum, it’s been such a help trying to navigate the craziness! And good luck to anyone still waiting to hear back!
  3. Congratulations, that is so exciting! You deserve it! And thank you for letting me know--I will now be an anxious mess the rest of the week LOL. I really appreciate it
  4. If anyone on Western's waitlist gets an offer this week please let us know! Sincerely, an impatient first quadrant-er ?
  5. I don't know for certain, but I imagine they wait until after the 15th. Individuals who received an offer April 1st have until the 15th or so to either accept or decline their offer...from there they can see how many seats are leftover and start to contact waitlisted individuals to fill them.
  6. Just so everyone knows, Janet (from Western) is out of the office until April 4th so if you were planning to email you won't hear back for a few days. I had emailed inquiring about where I might be quadrant-wise on the waitlist so I can see if I have a realistic shot or not LOL. I was so set on being able to make some decisions by today (whether that be accepting offers or sending job apps/apartment hunting ?. ) So frustrating, I hope everyone is hanging in there today, and congrats to those that have been accepted/placed on a waitlist!
  7. I'm wondering the same...my plan was to start job and apartment hunting if I got all rejections but my Western waitlist is kind of throwing a wrench in that plan ? I cant make any permanent decisions until I know for sure lol
  8. Could you apply as an open studies student to a uni and take some courses to bump up your sGPA? Hope this helps
  9. I'm in the same boat. I kind of knew already, because I have next to no hands-on volunteer experience (thank you COVID for messing with all the volunteering I had set up ?). I'm still waiting to hear back from two schools, but if I dont get in this year my plan is to RAKE IN those volunteer hours, and get as much experience as I can in the meant time. Also, save some $$$--gotta look at the positives I'm also going to look into a few different certifications and courses that will make me stand out and have some extra knowledge. Also potentially take some more uni courses to bump up my sGPA, although it is pretty high already so maybe not necessary. Hang in there, you aren't alone!!!!
  10. Got mine today too! Try not to be too discouraged ( I know, easier said than done), everything will work out for us the way its supposed to I guess! Sucks for now, but we will make it work
  11. Yes I know! I want to be able to apply for jobs in related fields and get more volunteer work lined up if I don’t get in, so I’d like to know already ? not to mention where I’m going to be living LOL. Fingers crossed for us both ??
  12. Ouf this wait is killing me, I didn't expect to have to wait this long to hear back from McGill. Fingers crossed Western and UofT send out April 1st and don't drag the wait out ?
