  1. If I don't get funding from Elliott it drops out of contention for me, so you can have my spot
  2. Somehow missed this amongst the furore Massive congratulations. Awesome news
  3. Congrats Haven't seen you around much of late!
  4. What programs (IR, IDEV, MPH) did you apply to and what was your personal statement like?
  5. In at GWU Elliott too... Email about fellowships next week. Anyone else receive anything concrete on the funding front?
  6. Posts like this don't help my "oh well it's just another school" rationalizations...
  7. Kinda how I feel about it. Not remotely hopeful, but hard not to dream
  8. Good to know the exact date - thanks a lot Charlotte . On the downside I'm gonna be in the middle of nowhere with no internet access...
  9. It was just an automatic "Your decision is available on the AppYourself website" email. I have contacted POIs and the Program Coordinator before, but was kind of considering waiting a little before getting back to them as I'll be visiting programs two weeks from now.
  10. Congratulations! Pretty much exactly the same package I got offered. 20hrs a week assistantship. There goes my newly re-found personal life Also I confirm that the decision HAS NOT appeared on my VIP page yet, only the official AppYourself page. So that's where you want to be checking.
  11. Hey all, I just got my first offer this morning. Do I need to send in any sort of confirmation for courtesy or not? I want to thank them for the offer but also think there'll be a huge deluge of other people asking for status updates on their applications. Let me know what the protocol is! Thanks!
  12. My surname is in the first four letters of the alphabet, so it may well be alphabetical.
  13. It was in my acceptance letter, paragraph 2. So I logged onto AppYourself and it was in the decision letter.
  14. I went for the IPCR as it's a perfect mix of conflict resolution/development for me. I'm actually working in Nepal at the minute, but from the UK. Thanks a lot to all the other well wishers. Having sat on this forum before and watched rejection after rejection roll in I can't quite tell you how good it feels to be on the other end In terms of whether I take the offer it'll be down to whether I get in anywhere else and if I did manage to, what funding they offer. I'd be nuts to turn down a free MA for anything less than the same elsewhere though!
  15. The wait is over. I'm in, full tuition and stipend. It's 7am where I am, and I can't quite compute.
  16. I wouldn't worry yet, I'm an international student so they may well be dealing with us lot first. The funding I got is earmarked for non-US citizens. I can imagine funding for US citizens is very very competitive. Congrats on the acceptance
  17. Just got into IPCR - emailed to check the website, and was also told about funding. Good luck to everyone else who's waiting.
  18. I just got into American SIS :D :D Full tuition plus stipend. I can't quite believe it. Woke up this morning (7PM EST) in Nepal to some fairly life changing news. Regardless of what happens now, I can relax and know wherever I go next, it's going to be East Coast

  20. Good luck this week ladies and gents - hopefully we'll all hear something, and it'll be good news.
  21. It's Friday, Friday, getting used to no news on Friday. Weekend weekend, kind of wish I'd hear this weekend...
  22. I'm just talking about the day. In terms of dates it looks like it's usually second week of March, so it's basically down to whether you think this week counts as the first week or not. I'd be inclined to think it'll be not next week but the week after. That's based on nothing more than that 14-15 March matches up a lot more closely with past notification dates than 7-9 March. Gotta say I really hope it's next week though, I'll be in the field the week after so no internet, and the week after the 14th I'll be travelling to the USA so will similarly lack proper internet access for the duration...
  23. Looking at the Grad Survey results for the last few years, I posit that: WWS: Notify Wednesday to Thursday American: Notify beginning of the week GWU Elliott: Notify Thursday/Friday SAIS: Notify start of the week Tomorrow, March is upon us... Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines.
  24. I liked www.mathdvdtutor.com You can subscribe for a pretty low price per month and access it all. I used it a fair bit for GRE review.
