Also, just because you did not receive an invite to FSU does not necessarily mean you are out of the running.
And just becuase you did get an invite does not mean you are in.

I don't really think those are controversial theories begin with, but the only danger to me seems that a student might get caught up in his advisors theory and not think for himself and grow on his/her own
just so you know, the student doctor forums have a section devoted to clinical psyche..it is more active in clinical than this place and will probably be much more helpful regarding clinical as well.

you seem a bit defensive about this. if you read his post you would see he has done a lot more in psychology than read pop-psych books, and has a comparable level of experience in psychology to most senior psychology majors
my strategy is to convince myself i will not get in anywhere, then if that actually happens i will be expecting it, but if i do get in i will be extra surprised/happy, yay!
you might also want to look into the APA Graduate Study in psychology book..it has basically every psychology program in the USA and Canada, lists # of applicants/# admitted/ average gpa/gre, etc.
