I have a question about his too because in my acceptance letter from Mizzou it said if I intended to enroll for the Fall 2011 I needed to fill out the form and return it by MARCH 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is so early, I may not have even heard from a couple schools by then!!!! I mean I haven't even had a chance to visit yet. I thought they couldn't make you decide until APRIL 15th. Should I ask for an extension so that I can really take the time to compare funding and programs?????? Because I dont want to just decline b/c its so early then figure out it would have been my best funding offer...

my Rutgers doesn't say anything different... I am assuming rejection at this point but I will hold onto tiny bits of hope for them.

I dont thing anyone else applied here but I just was accepted into University of Missouri with "tuition remission" and a TA with Stipend..... more details to come

oh I thought it went really well.. they asked me about my personal life and my travels and then the standard questions they asked everyone else like why grad school, why Penn and why now. they also asked who I would like to see as a visiting artist. It wasnt terribly long but I really enjoyed talking with them and I really like that program so I am hopeful. I spoke with Terry adkins, who is a big part of why I was initially attracted to the school, and Matt freedman, whom I l;iked very much. they were both very relaxed and easy to talk with. Did you interview there also?

I know this is WAY off topic but I figure you guys mught have some good advice. I need a new laptop, mine is shot. I am thinking I want t a Mac butI will have to buy used/refurbished. I can only spend at most 550, so I'm pretty limited. any advice on whereI could get a good deal, or an other options on PC brands that are good for around that price or less if possible... please help if anyone has any insight ot offer

No artists wears a suit on a normal occasion, I think its perfectly acceptable tot be clean, ironed, and without paint/etc. on you. They dont expect us to dress up too much I wouldnt imagine.

I told my friend yesterday that every day when I wake up I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning, and if I get bad news or no news at all it feels like Santa didn't bring be the gift I asked for. Here is to hoping that today he gets it right!!!!!!!!!

I talked to Univ of oregon and the lady told me that profs were in the process of contacting accepted applicants and all other notifications would be sent our by mail this week'

I am in my very late 20's and I took 5 years off in the MIDDLE of my BFA but I just finished my degree in 2010. I just did my time off to work and make art a little backwards. I certainly don't think I would have been ready at 22 but that was just me and the place I was in at the time. I'm certain that the age for MFA runs the gamut between right out of undergrad to people in their 40's. I don't think its about age but about how much your art has had the opportunity to mature.

no, pretty bummed since I really like that program and my professors brother went there and I got to hear all the fantastic things about it in the last few years!!! But I don't want to totally give up hope on them yet because it seems like everyone is hearing differently and someone yesterday said their status hadnt changed but htey had gotten an acceptance email????????? I don't know I guess I'll just wait for the letter

So did you not get an email notification or a call? Just curious because other people did and so I'm wondering if they are doing acceptances in waves or something. It seems like everyone has heard in a different way. thanks

yeah I have a black check next to that oo but then below that I have the red X next to add media

ok I just got onto my rutgers slideroom and on the last page that says submitt application there is a check list and the part that says ADD MEDIA has a big red X there. My portfolio is there and I dont think the X was ther before.... anyone else see this?

I totally agree with you but just because we cant see each other doesnt mean we can abandon respect.... I have seen a number of other fields of study sayin gthere were any number of nasty replys and I was so pleasantly surprised that we have had NONE of that!!! perhaps a private message would have been the way to go... or simply asking why he wouldnt share... I dont know maybe I'm wrong I just think we are all peers and this is hard enough without having to rudeness on the forum. but its ultimately no skin off my back!!! good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well is doesnt appear that you have posted anything of relevance about any school to which you have applied, nor have you contributed to the post in any productuve way so it seems slightly hypocritical to have said "what is the point." When in fact he same could be said of your post. You could have been more tactful.. we are all adults here. COME ON!
