OK so I made a filter for my email after reading this, I have AOL so its a tad different, but now I am ultra paranoid that I have done something wrong and that my emails will now be lost into the oblivion of web space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no rest for the weary.

these are all so HARSH. I honestly think for my part I would just prefer a letter that says: "Rejected" right at the very top so I don't have to read through their bull sheit just to feel like a total loser!!!! Here is to hoping we don't have to read a ton of these! Who writes these anyway, they must be really horrible people or Ricky Gervais... its a toss up.

no one has heard from northwestern?????????????

I kinda hinted at how overwhelmed with applications they must have been and then with the weather.... and she is the NICEST lady, and she just started laughing and said "thats my little secret, and yeah the weather hasnt really held us back any" I am not at my permenent address and so I have someone checking my mail for me and wanted to be able to give my friend a heads up, and though she did say the letters would come USPS she told me I could call anytime around the first of the month and she could give me an update and she also said she could email me the decision. SUPER nice lady!!!!!

I talked to the grad student coordinator at Rutgers today and she said that we could expect to hear something mid March. they are just now getting the portfolios distributed to the reviewees. She said that she felt confidnet that it would be by mid March though, not April! I love this school but it is very competative. Heres to waiting it out!!!!

I have a friend at Pratt right now for GD and she LOVES it! She has felt really good about the program from the beginning. She has been living in the city for a while so it wasnt much of a cultural/ financial adjustment, but she def loves the program and tried talking me into applying there.

I havent seen anyone say anything about VCU yet...sorry. Anyone heard from Northwestern yet? Last year they heard on Sunday the 7th..... weird I know for the weekend, but still thought Id ask.

it is ok HopeDreamPaint, don't worry I'm in the same boat... I haven't gotten the word definitively yet but I know someone at one of my schools and I heard through the grapevine that it does not look good for me!!! I wont say which school it is right now because I don't want to sell out my insider but lets just say it was a definite "safety" school. Last night when I got the news I was literally sick to my stomach and so terrified at the prospect of this being an indicator of what was to come. but then I read through the posts form last year and I felt so much better. NO ONE got into every school they applied too and even people who were getting into the best schools were rejected by other schools that weren't even ranked. It is all about finding the right school for your work! Heads up everyone, it will all work out and if not there is always next year.

Hey everyone, I too am feeling desperate, out of control and obsessed about this entire process! This is perhaps the most stressful situation I have ever experienced and I am a single mom so I know stress!!!!! I want this more than I have ever wanted anything in my whole life and I have work so hard to prepare and now it is all out of my hands... UUUUGGGGHHHHH! Most of you guys get the advantage of knowing definitivly where you stand based on your GRE scores but I am and artist and it is all subjective. An MFA is a terminal degree and I really want to teach at the university level and knowing that my acceptance is based almost solely on the preference and subjectivity of the reviewers is intimidating to say the least! I have found myself crying without cause, yelling at my son over essential spilled milk and checking my email to the point of complete obsession. I know that this wil all be ove in a couple of months and I'm just hoping not to have a heart attack!! I'm only 28 should this be so consuming????????? But I did start a new vegan diet and it is helping me feel less bogged down. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

I'll add a couple of dates to that list for other schools: Northwestern: Rejections: 2/7 MICA- Mount Royal Interviews mostly by 2/18 PennDesign: it says March 12th but some hadnt heard by 3/20 CU: No one had heard by 3/24 UNM photography: rejection 2/1 UNM land and ecology: rejection 2/10 *all by snail mail CONGRATS to those with Yale interviews and sorry for the rejections, good things WILL come.

it seems like last year people were hearing from Northwestern (at least for rejections) around the 7th of Feb. so hopefully we will hear from them next week.

OH dont do that yet for MICA!!! I mean call and make sure if you want, but I called the Grad coordinator, Chris something, and he said that Feb 15th date is really for undergrad, because the financial aid stuff requires you to put which program you are going to be in and info we dont have until acceptance. so he said that stuff can wait. I mean send it if you want to but you might send an email or call and make sure first... hope that helps

I am applying to Rutgers and MICA also. I know for a fact that MICA conducts interviews and it seemed like last year people were getting interview notifications mid Feb to the first week in March. I have no idea what Rutgers does or when it does it?????

I'm really excited for people who are starting to hear from schhols, but I must admitt to being slighty jealous that none of my schools are notifying people yet!!! here is hoping we all have such good luck!!!!

@scolby: what school was it?? And no I wouldnt worry about it. everyone is so so busy right now just trying ot get everything processed, that I'm sure the person is just covered up with work. Dont get discouraged

last year it seems like people were hearing from Northwestern during the first week of Feb. (at least for rejections) but Im thinking that with the crazy snow storm that probably wont happen!!! bummer in fact alot of my schools, no most of them, are right in the thick of the snow!!!! UUUGGGHHHH

perhaps, maybe the best way to say it would be "are there any options for interviewees who are on restricted budgets and live a great distance from your school. I am very excited to meet with the faculty in person and owould not want to miss that opportunity, do you know of any assistance that might be available?"

I also love having this forum and you guys to talk with. This is perhaps one of the most stressful situations I have been in, but being able to talk with people in the same situation makes all the worry significantly easier!! Thanks everyone! Also, I have been going through phases where I know and am confident that my work is strong and relevant and then I swing into these weird moods where I think they are totally going to think my work sucks. Who knows, in the end I truly believe in what I am making and I I really hope someone else out there gets it and believes in it too!!!!

I had the same type of thing with my schools... several had much higher acceptance % than I had expected... and one had only a 4% and I though it was one of my "safety" schools!!!! YIKES!!! but good overall... MICA didnt say though, I'd be curious to know
