  1. I'm in a kinda weird boat myself, caught bouncing between clinical practice and big macro goals. I am always wanting to learn more clinical but felt that I would expand myself further if my doc work was macro based. Thankfully I'm glad I made the choice to macro focus
  2. One final down! that's the update. more to go still. and class is about to start.
  3. I'm going with you're (all?) in the second round of calls and I can't help myself, I'm sticking with it!
  4. I wish I could try the other services, I have heard generally good things about canvas and know nothing about noodle but am super curious.
  5. also, no word yet? *New posts within a short time frame are limited. Please wait 9 seconds before submitting.
  6. This would be kind of a weird advantage that Simmons would have right now, the issue with SC for me is largely in the async being outdated because things change so quickly. I've heard issues with 2U locking schools into impossible contracts and not being easy to use and requires them to make good changes etc... but as far as the platform goes that I use it functions fine. I just don't want to keep having lectures from before so many seismic events took place and having the same bland delivery ?‍♂️
  7. The newness of SC's program is an unfortunate reality for me, direct effects are being worked out for the most part but it is not great to be around for the changes. I also don't find that they are stopping me from getting a good education and wouldn't think to have waited because of the growing pains of the program being only 4-5 years old. I have no idea how old Simmons is, but I would think that it could be an opportunity to help influence the direction the program goes moving forward... not that you wouldn't have enough to do as a student ?
  8. I like the SC program, there are ups and downs as with anything, but it is a really good fit for my field of study being macro focused on improved outcomes for non college bound individuals leaving high school. I made a much better write up on it somewhere, I'll look for it when I get this final turned in.
  9. Welcome to the thread! I hope you receive good news soon!
  10. I'm glad you created it too, and I'm in for the annual DSW cafe thread! I'll probably check this every now and then over the course of the year anyhow
  11. Morning all! Any news? I wonder that too, maybe if we get two people asking it more answers will come. Has anyone who didn’t receive an acceptance call had any kind of update or communication on official rejection? ?
  12. I would guess that the calls will go out over a few days as they get responses and people figure out what they are doing. I'm wondering if they will be making calls over the weekend or not.
  13. Congratulations! Thats fantastic!
  14. I think that sounds great! this sounds too simple to me even in writing it, but I am trying to find and hold onto me time, and going for a run, and having non school related conversations with people I care about when doing something fun. unlike my masters I don't find that I have a lot of time to do more. When I can combine a couple of things its what I most prefer, conversation with a friend in the park, taking my laptop to the botanical garden to write for a couple of hours, it's not what I would call balance, but because I am in a place in life where school and basics is a real positive for me I feel more balanced then I did when I was in my masters and had more time. Keeping up with everything is impossible, so I just prioritize me and do all I can in the remaining time. I'm on break for 3 weeks after next Friday and I'll probably be doing the same things but reading for fun. and maybe going further out of the normal area I cover for some green spaces.
  15. ? I so wanted it to be today!
  16. One of my favorites Importance_of_being_stupid[1] copy.pdf
  17. ME TOO!!!!! I have them saved in a motivation folder I seem to open once or twice a semester along with a few odds and ends I re-read
  18. Congrats to them! I'll be checking this thread all day hoping to celebrate more!
  19. Glad you joined the thread! I hope not too far after the 15th (TOMORROW!) for you.
  20. Thanks for sharing this, I'm looking forward to checking it out and maybe adding some of my own thoughts!
  21. Me too! I searched on here for DSW friends back in 2019 and the few who I saw posted anything never comeback and replied again. This thread has been fantastic to have during the process. I hope we all stay connected
  22. USC does let you rent the colored robes but requires you to buy the tam if you want it, otherwise you get the mortarboard with the rental.
  23. I need to look up the Penn robes. I didn't look it up beforehand but now my horse is seemingly in the cart. We will see where it goes. ?
  24. Thanks for starting this thread.
