  1. premise: I'm doing a co-op, which is supposed to be like a long term interview process for a full time position. my boss: so what are your plans? me: umm my plan currently is this co-op, and I haven't really thought very far ahead yet.
  2. football star. ... say it right, Americans.
  3. play halo 4, ride my bike. I just ordered a slingshot off of Amazon, so life is going to be just a tad bit more interesting for me in this dinky little town.
  4. Death Star you say? say I think I just might do that. Blow up some planets while I'm at it.. I mean shit, I need a hobby.
  5. It looks like UC Davis is sending out some rejection letters today. HOLD MY HAND!!!!! PLLLLEAAASE GOD! DON DO IT!!
  6. well I'm from the midwest... and it's not for me. tell me what about the east coast didn't you like? are people mean or something?
  7. I'm starting to develop OCD, like a lot of you already have.
  8. you won't get a very satisfying response anyway. The best response I got was through email, saying they're going to wrap it up in the next two weeks, which I don't believe they will, honestly
  9. ^random comment, but you're going from SF to Montana. Are you crazy?
  10. I'm happy for you, but I'm also pissed that they fucked up. DON'T DO DAT, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH IT HURTS US
  11. I had several dreams last night, but I actually remember this one. So I was walking towards a house, behind enemy lines, with 6 bodyguards around me, in formation. The house was a grad school admission's office. I was knocking on their door to check my application status. I got an answer of something along the lines of "we'll get back to you". I was like "oh, ok", and we started walking back.
  12. don't recommenders use the same letter that they used last time? I guess if you've had contact with them their input might change. But for all other scenarios, why would they write a different letter the second time around?
  13. but I don't really want this job. The people are nice, and the pay is great. But it's not my environment. I'm not getting very much fulfillment out of working at a plant, and that's the second most important thing to me in a job, next to compensation. I'm not even sure if I'd take it if I get shut out, because I might try again next year, and use the time to gain research experience.
  14. 5-6 years from now, when you're making bank, $500 will seem like chump change you would use to buy girl scouts cookies. no disrespect for girl scouts.
  15. I've been doing a co-op since January. They seem to want to offer me a job. Now I don't want to play hard to get, like if you don't make me an offer, I'm gone. But I'm wondering if you think it's a good idea to email them to update my application to include my co-op, just to get my name out there a little more, and maybe add some more merit, considering industrial experience adds a little more for those who didn't apply straight out of undergrad. I feel dumb for having to ask this. But I'm waiting for two programs and really don't want to fk it up.
  16. what did she do in those three years? It must have sucked
  17. that's what I'm saying. judging by the result section, when you the last wave of offers in early-mid febuary, the only thing you're left to assume is that most of these offers are gone by now.
  18. well I called from my work phone in TX, and I applied from Iowa. So ain't no way they knew it was me. Doubt they'd even make the effort either.
  19. It's mid March. I'm guessing that most of the offers have been made. So now a lot of us are competing for fewer spots. This makes me sad. Is this an accurate perspective?
  20. wow, not the thought I want to have in my head. shit...
