  1. Drocket, It is quite uplifting to see you keeping a brave and positive front about it. I see you have one admit and good luck for the ones you are waiting on! You're right, it is quite intriguing to see that not many people seem to have applied to a school like Columbia for Theatre PhD!

  4. Bats, I hope you don't feel too bad about NW IPTD, since you have got some great offers! Just for the benefit of other applicants here - Would anyone like to claim the Columbia Theatre PhD rejection on the results page? Perhaps I should stop listening to sad music for the time being - it seems to be affecting me.
  5. Ok, so finally I got a rejection email from Northwestern IPTD. I long expected it. Perhaps shows what's in store for me in future as well. I must compliment Northwestern for the very thoughtful and kind email.
  6. Salvatura, Dan0075 and Nix, Well done! Congrats! Good luck for other schools and interviews.
  7. Spaceman, Yeah, I too hope only one school takes me in. I have applied to only 3 schools, but am thinking of sending applications to some more with a late deadline.
  8. Cramypencil, Thanks. I have applied only to funded PhDs, so haven't gone to any such forums. But Google should help you.
  9. Spaceman, Good luck to you and I do hope you get an acceptance soon! Do keep us updated. It's so comforting to know that I'm not the only one who hasn't heard from any of the schools yet, though have given up on Northwestern now.
  10. Financial Aid packages for international applicants are different in each school, depending upon the school's resources, the particular program and the nationality of the applicant. There are some external sources that fund graduate study in different disciplines. There are some scholarships for women, minority candidates and for special disciplines. You can search all this information on Google. In general, Master's programs have much less funding than the PhDs and if a school wants you to fill out the financial statement form, it generally mean that funding is limited and you'll have to find a sponsor or take out loan for Graduate study. This is true even of some very prestigious schools and especially for arts disciplines. The financial aid package varies in every school and program. In some programs, admission offer comes with a guaranteed offer of funding, regardless of nationality of the candidate. In many schools, funding is not guaranteed, but the program manages to fund most of its admitted candidates regardless of nationality. Still other programs offer partial funding and ask you to fill out a financial statement form along with the application form, so that you can assure them that you'll be able to find the remaining amount required for your Graduate Study. Usually, most schools have a special financial aid information page for international applicants, where you can find information about whether any financial aid is available and the possible sources of external funding are also listed there. Most schools also encourage the applicants to write to its financial aid office with questions related to funding. Perhaps you can explore all this information on the School website and on Google. A good idea would be to search for photography and media related fellowships for Graduate Study on Google.
  11. Someone has posted an interview call from Northwestern Theatre and Drama PhD on the results page. Would anyone like to claim it?
  12. Drocket, Good luck to you! Salvatura, You are absolutely right. I wonder who had the brainwave of having GRE as an essential part of the application and why it is there. I do wish you all the best for the remaining schools. I'm sorry to hear you have got rejections from top 3 schools in a week. You are truly a strong person to be able to handle it. I would have broken down.
  13. Salvatura, The silence from the POI is a matter of concern. Perhaps you can send an email to the Graduate Program Director and/or the Department Chair, asking if a decision has been taken.
  14. Bats and Auburgine, Congrats! That's great news from both of you! Salvatura, don't lose heart. Wait for other schools' results.
  15. I'm still waiting for a miracle to happen to me - or for the thunderbolt to strike!

  16. I'm still waiting for a miracle to happen to me!

  17. Good luck Drocket! Let's hope the silence will break soon.
  18. I was told by the Graduate Program Director of a top-ranking school where I applied that they really seriously look at all the applications they get - perhaps this is true for only this program, though it would be nice to know that all schools follow this rule.. Last years' results show that this program decides late, so I can understand not hearing from them yet. But I am confounded by the silence from other schools where I applied - no email, no status update, no results submission by others, while other programs are posting decisions as shown by the results page.
  19. Let's hope and wish and pray that we all hear from somewhere at least!
  20. Thanks Lmo0424, but I'm really worried about this. Let's hope we'll hear soon from IPTD. Alr234, Good luck to you!
  21. Lmo0424, Yes, I applied for IPTD and so far haven't heard from them, nor has there been a result submission from anyone for this program.
  22. Lmo0424, Good Luck! Did you apply for Performance Studies or for Interdisciplinary Theatre and Drama program?
  23. At least I won't get rejected anywhere till Monday...

  24. Bats, Would you like to share about your Brown interview? Were you also asked about performance theory? Clifford is certainly lucky, but let's not lose hope. Gradually, we'll also hear from the schools. Though how gradually is a matter of debate!
