I was admitted to CSULB early December too. Are you doing CYF concentration? Applying to any stipends?

I got my acceptance letter to CSULB last week! So excited!!! I'm still wating to hear back from a couple other SoCal schools, but since I got into my first choice, I feel like I can relax a bit now. Good luck, everyone!

I included something along the line of "Sent personal statement to Department". It's not necessary to fill that part in. Where are you applying? So far my list just includes CSULB and CSULA. LB has rolling admissions...so if the results from them aren't favorable, I just may have to add a few more schools. >_<

Hi friends! Gearing up for application season! How are your apps coming along? This is my second round so I'm hoping another year of experience will make me a more competative candidate. Saw this on CSUMentor and it's making me a little nervous, though : CSU campuses will hold all applications until the end of this initial application filing period on November 30, 2012. The reason for this action is because there is a measure on the November ballot (Proposition 30) which requires voters to decide whether to provide additional funding to help the state address the ongoing structural deficit. If Proposition 30 is not approved, the CSU budget will be cut an additional $250 million. Enrollment capacity on the CSU campuses is necessarily tied to the amount of available state funding. Therefore, if Proposition 30 is not approved, the CSU will have to admit fewer students. Admission decisions are therefore being postponed; students will begin to receive admission notices after the application deadline of November 30, 2012.

That's the word on the street. We are just waiting for an admitted student to pull out.

Thanks for sharing this info. Sounds like at least there is SOME probability to hear back before July. At this point, I've been waiting for a definitive answer for half a year....what's another 3 months, right?! Haha :-)

Have you contacted the Department yet regarding your pending status? Do you think we'll actually have to wait until July before we hear back?! Through reading the forums, it looks like more people have been put in the "pending" catergory than accepted. What gives?!

Blaaaah! I was told mid-April about a month ago. And now it's May?! I wish they would just tell me I'm rejected so I can go on with Plan B and stop obsessively checking my email. sigh.

Don't give up hope just yet! My cousin was put on SDSU's waitlist a couple years ago - then was accepted to her first choice program! You still have a good chance of being admitted. The sucky part is just that it makes the waiting game even longer. Better than a flat out rejection, right? What options did LB give you?

I only applied to CSULB...so I guess it's my first choice by default! :-) My friend is graduating from CSULA this year and absolutely loves it. She's already been offered a job from the agency she's doing her fieldwork at! But Berkeley is a pretty amazing city/school. I'm sure there would be so many unique opportunities there.

Congrats on being accepted! At CSULB's informational meeting, it was said they once students begin their program, they can't switch between program models. You could contact the department to see if they can possibly switch you into the 3 year program before the beginning of fall semester. It's worth a shot since they've already offered you admission! What's your first choice school for your msw?

You're not alone in this feeling. I applied back to CSULB in November and received notification in December that I was placed in "Pending Status" as opposed to being immediately accepted or flat out rejected. While I should be happy that I wasn't automatically rejected, I now have to wait until July or possibly later before a final decision is made. JULY! sigh. I'm really bummed out. CSULB was the only school I applied to and the only place I want to attend for my MSW.

How long after you were waitlisted did CSULB give you their final decision? Is waitlisting the same thing as "pending status"? The reason I ask is because I was placed in pending status in December...I'm wondering how long I have to wait this out. :-/

Congratulations! Are you going to accept at CSUDH or wait it out for LB? Either way, getting in ANYWHERE is an amazing accomplishment.

Have you heard anything from either school yet? I applied around the same time!
