  1. I was refreshing the results board just now and realized something: I am not waiting on any more English programs to report, so my refreshing is just compulsive behavior at this point. Yale Am Studies is the last one, and then I'm all done... what a relief.
  2. I see you went to CU for your MSW. My partner was in the same program. I wonder if you guys know each other.
  3. I got an email telling me to check ASF.
  4. FYI, I was the "gay marriage" post on the results board.
  5. Plus, if why not just go to the awesome PhD program instead of the funded MA and try to transfer? Does Tufts offer an en route MA?
  6. It's official!!! ...wah. wah. wahhhhhh.
  7. I think Two Espressos is the next bdon, actually.
  8. WHOA! Awesome! Congrats, Escobar! Huh. I wonder why they didn't offer me funding -- I've gotten funding from my other acceptances. Hmm.
  9. I want to change my name to Marlowe.
  10. If Yale calls me tonight, they're getting drunk TripWillis. BTW, I'm PMing you.
  11. I'm getting drunk and having fun right here at home. I figure I probably won't get to use the phrase "go out" a lot in the next 7 years, so I'd better get used to it. I'm also making thai curried mussels. Mmm.
  12. I'm sad that Dorinda is in Durham right now and can't share the gloom/joy with all of us. Wonder if he/she* got in? *It's weird how often you have to guess at people's gender pronouns on this forum.
  13. Really happy for you, Marlowe!
  14. I'm totally confused as to what's going on with Yale, but I don't think they're finished yet by any means. Good luck to all!
  15. Pulling for you guys; maybe a waitlist? Waitlist notifications were staggered last year over the course of a few days... not to get anyone's hopes up...
  16. Yeah, chances "pretty good," "name close to the top" -- I feel like I'm better off trying to read hieroglyphics. I feel no closer to knowing if I'll get into Rutgers or not, but ever since I got the waitlist I have REALLY been wanting it. Being waitlisted is such an odd, limbo-like experience, and I say that knowing that I'm already in at two places with generous offers. Rutgers would just be such a fantastic option -- top choice.
  17. Yes, loathing yourself and planning on 0/10 suicide is surely the way to get into your top-choices! I dunno; if I were you guys, I'd ask woolferine, hazelbite, and Mr. Grimwig about their board habits. Also, it seems like not having an avatar and having less than 15 posts is a good way to get into an Ivy. Just an observation. I agree about Two Espressos' chances of success next year -- kid is gonna tear it up. He/she is like a junior and has expertise and interest in a million areas.
  18. Woo! Congrats!! Are you going to the open house on the 16th? Maybe I'll see ya there! Kind of a bummer that they made it for the exact same time as NeMLA. Fortunately my session is on Saturday, so I won't miss too much.
  19. Oop, I see another one on there. Oh brother.
  20. With UC-Berkeley, UMich, and Rutgers in your tote, I think you have a good shot. Good luck!! Secretly wanting you to get in so that you'll go there instead of Rutgers.
  21. Oh man, my school just sent me back to back emails and I freaked both times. I don't know why. I keep trying to will the forces of the universe to produce a H-school acceptance in my inbox. How's that going so far, you ask? Not well. Not well.
  22. Seriously. I would give my lower intestine to attend NYU... and die shortly thereafter.
  23. He's gonna make some wait list people there very happy! Now I just need some Rutgers acceptees to get in.
  24. WOW Hazel! Serious congrats!! Was it e-mail? Phone? Deets when possible!
  25. Congrats anyway. I was impressed with the funding you posted on the results board. That's slightly more than CUNY pays their PhD students. For a master's program! Now you're just showin' off, bdon.
