It has to be fake. I was told by admissions that decisions for the MDiv would be made, at the earliest, on the third week of February. I have wondered, after suffering a great deal of stress due to a fake-result post last year, if perhaps the individuals who post false data on the result page do so in an attempt to "stimulate" the admission decisions at certain schools. Whatever the reason, the fake results certainly cause a fair amount of stress.

If I don't get in anywhere this year, my plan is to join the ACME Detective Agency and track Carmen Sandiego across the globe for the rest of my days.  Yep.

Depends where you are. At BC, for instance, I would say most were Catholic (surprise, I know), so it might feel "odd" if you are taking a lot of practical courses. Same goes for prot. schools like Duke. Most of the people I have met in the Div. school seem to be ignorant of Catholicism (my experience, take that for what it is).

One of my good friends that I went to BC with, who is now doing a second MTS at ND (in early Christianity) has complained to me countless times about how much more conservative the student body is, than say BC. I think it would be a bit more uncomfortable to be a prot. at a place like that. I'm agnostic and had an easy time completely avoiding any theology while I was at BC. I'm not sure if you could do such a thing at ND (from what I hear). But, who knows, don't take my comments too seriously, as my experience is, well, just that.

    cheers

You can just say you're excited but still waiting to hear from other schools before you can make a final decision. Any reasonable professor will understand that, they all know that students apply to multiple schools so it's not unreasonable to wait and hear from them all (or at least the few top choices) before choosing where to go.

Interesting you that you would find it "obvious," since #1 is not widely known and since #2 provides an answer different from other posts on this board. But anyway, what "insider" info would you like?

Thanks for this obvious info. I'm curious about insider info, hence the title of the thread.

I can offer a small sliver of insider info on my school (which will remain nameless):

They have free laundry on campus.

There is a lot of department in-fighting.

If you don't get in, it may be because one member of the adcomm liked your app a little TOO much, therefore engendering hatred for you among his or her adversaries.

    That's all I've got.

    Windfish and Ubi,

Thanks for all the helpful info. I have been accepted to the MDiv program for the Fall semester of 2013 and was wondering if you think that department has created a wait-list for funding? Also, since I was passed-over for a scholarship on the first of the three award dates, do you have any idea what my chances are of receiving a fully-funded offer?

I will be attending LSU this Fall for their masters program in philosophy. I am still trying to decide whether I should look into a 1bedroom because they are so cheap, or save even more money and find a roommate. Save money...versus...risk of bad roommate. I definitely enjoy my privacy, but would be willing to share a house/apartment to get more space, etc provided I find another cool graduate student to live with. Anyone in a similar predicament? Im going to try and get in touch with other incoming philosophy students, but we'll see how that goes.

    Hey everyone,
I know it might seem crazy, but for some reason I am palnnig to go to LSU (Louisiana State uni-Baton rouge). Well, I don't expect a fancy town, but what's it really like? I know living expenses are low. What about other things like people. Are they easy to get along with? By the way, how is safty and weather over there...?

I tried the whole running "thing" but the whole being out of breath after putting on my shoes told me I wasn't meant to run or even trying to do that.

Every GRE test you have taken for the past five years will be reported to the schools you decide to send your results to. This means that even if you should score V=169, Q=169, AW=6.0 on your second test, the schools would receive these scores along with your previous scores. How the schools choose to interpret your GRE scores, however, is not something anyone can answer.

Oh, well I didn't know that you also had a stipend. If the stipend is around 10-15k you should be fine with the $4500. And, you might even have enough to bring a car!!!!!!!!
