That's on par with my "high" education. lol But like other posters have noted, I'm sure we're the only ones who are really looking at our materials so closely. Don't feel bad.

I'm starting to freak out and worry that I may not get into any of my programs. So, I've started thinking of alternatives.... Has anyone gone the Peace Corps-MA route? Any advice or feedback? It looks like an interesting option.

That's what I'm doing. I might not even walk because it might be after I start my grad program. Oh well...

I'm definitely blowing my savings on a ticket to Micronesia to visit my friend. ahhhh...island hopping.

Congrats, PrettyABDiva!! Was your Loyola decision made by snail mail or email? I heard they process apps quickly too.

@lilgreycells- Congrats!! I just got an email from Penn that said that my app has been sent out for faculty review and I almost threw up. So, I guess I should find out in about 4 weeks. I heard that they have a pretty quick turnaround time. Is that true? Did you receive an acceptance through email or snail mail? Anxiety is getting to me. ugh.....

@logik36- Tell me about it! I've been checking the status over and over again...logging in and logging out. :/ They officially have about 16 hours... @wlkwih2- lol I feel the same way. Too bad that I'm on this study abroad thing in Rome. I mean there are worse problems to have than to be in Rome...but seriously I'd love the ability to use the phone and internet without paying like 15 euros. lol I've just been sending my profs the automatically generated reminders hoping that they get the hint. If not, I'm going to ask the two profs on this trip to write me letters. I'm freaking out!

2 of my 3 recommenders have decided to wait until the last second to submit their letters...or at least I'm hoping that they still intend to submit them. The deadline is tomorrow! I might suffer a mild heart attack as a result of all this stress.

Especially gave really good feedback! I also agree that your childhood story takes away from your SOP. It doesn't add value. It sounds like you have a lot of unique experiences to work with, just make sure you showcase them in a way that specifically relates to the program to which you are applying. Show them how YOU are a great fit! Good luck!

Litjust- I can't believe it's already the 10th! I leave to Rome in 2 weeks which means that I either finish my apps now or do them while I'm studying abroad. I've been soooo busy. How are things going on your end? Sounds like you have things under control...

Did anyone apply to any UC schools- UCLA, Berkeley, etc? When are decisions usually made?

I had this come up in a senior capstone class and the professor teaching the class suggested a nice thank you note and a small gift... Like something for their office. small and inexpensive. I'm only spending about $20 per letter writer. I'm giving one of my profs a small basket of cookies, if that helps. It felt appropriate considering that it's also the holidays.

Nope. Most of my schools have a January deadline. I only have 3 schools that have a December deadline- UCLA, Berkeley, and Northwestern. Penn has rolling admissions so I think I might work on that next so that I don't apply at the tail end of their cycle.

SOP remorse- After submitting it, I found two grammar mistakes... and a missing comma. Best advice- Proofread , proofread , proofread!!!!!

I asked you about SSCE lol. I'm exhausted. SSCE is UCLA ... not Berkeley. Haha This last week has been a blur.

Sounds like a great conference! And now we wait... How are you doing with the rest of your apps?
