That is really strange. Maybe it was truly just a glitch that you received that, especially since you didn't even apply to Eugene Lang! I would absolutely call NSSR and ask for some answers. Everyone I've spoken to has been super helpful, so I'm sure you'll have to same experience. -

Thought of another thing that I can't seem to find the answer to online. How long does it generally take people to finish the MA Psych program? 2 years, or more? Also - can you take classes during the summer? thank you!!

hey there! yup I'm the other Jennifer haha yes they do seem very scattered! My experience with The New School was always so informed and pleasant, so its hard to still be waiting on Gallatin. They told me at the beginning of March it would be another 3 wks (when they initially told me it would be 3/1), then I called last week and John had no real status, just that they were still reviewing it. I emailed Fran this afternoon and just got an email back that they're just waiting a decision from the faculty. ugh yes definitely frustrating! I just wish they could give me an estimate. I have to give The New School a response in about 2 wks, and I want to be able to make a totally informed decision. (I only applied to Gallatin and NSSR). It'll depend on financial aid.... but I'll let y'all know!! I'm so sorry you were turned away from the office when you went for Spring Break! thats totally frustrating.

I think thats a great decision Pomo! especially given that MCC program is giving you a good financial aid package. congrats!! Thats the downside I've always heard of Gallatin...that they don't offer much/anything in terms of financial aid. Like I mentioned in a previous post - I got into my top choice which was The New School with a 25% merit scholarship, but still haven't even heard a peep from Gallatin. Its now been a month since they told me I'd hear in a couple of weeks. So I understand when you say they're not being very responsive! I want to know though! Its still an amazing program, so if they get back to me with a great aid package (???), then I'll definitely have a big decision. Good luck at your open house tonight!

Thanks for letting me know! Thats a little more than I thought, but way better than most programs I'm going to the accepted students event out here in LA so hopefully I'll get to meet a few of those cohorts! I've been seeing on blogs that NYU has been really lagging with getting back to people. I'm still waiting to hear back from NYU Gallatin actually. But NSSR was my top choice, so either way I'm good. And yes wait-listed is still good! I'm sure tons of people won't accept the offer and then you're in. good luck!

How many people are in the MA Psych program at NSSR? Thats something I haven't been able to find online.

Yea I am surprised NYU Gallatin isn't hosting an open house either. I'm going to one of the satellite NSSR orientations here in LA at the beginning of April. re: financial aid - thats really frustrating I'm sorry! And I'm crossing my fingers I hear back from Gallatin very soon since I have to let NSSR know within 30 days.

I received the same thing. I got an email invite to their Accepted Graduate Students Orientation first, and then a few days later I got my official letter in the mail with a nice little handwritten note from the director of admission and offering 25% merit-based scholarship. My program is the MA Psych program. Good luck everyone!! Getting the email first is definitely confusing huh? -

Pomo - I just got accepted to the MA Psych program at NSSR with a 25% merit scholarship and a nice little handwritten note from the director of admissions also. looks like we're both special I'm still waiting to hear from NYU Gallatin as I only applied to The New School & NYU Gallatin. If I get into both I'll have a tough decision on my hands since they are both wonderful!

Pomo - congrats on hearing your news today!! How did you hear? Via snail mail, FedEx, email? Just wondering what to look out for. Thanks!! Hoping to hear soon. I'm on the west coast, so it might take a little bit longer if its snail mail.
