It is a tough one for sure. I understand your concerns. My goal for grad school is to graduate with as little debt as possible. Prestige doesn't mean much to me. Personally, I feel that I will be an awesome social worker no matter where I get my degree.

Cschapman, No, CSUN's spring break was last week so they are super busy replying this week. I called and they told me I should hear back next week about scheduling.

Honestly, choosing USC sounds like a bad idea. It's $82,000 for two years. You DO NOT want to pay that loan back with interest. It is basically a second mortgage. It would be one thing if they gave you SIGNIFICANT financial aid/help. But that's just my two cents.

For those of you that interviewed at CSUN, how long did it take to setup the interview? I got an email Friday requesting that I email the dept. chair with my availability and I wrote to her with my free times. It is now Wednesday and I haven't heard anything! Is this normal? Why haven't they responded? Will they call me out of the blue? Should I call them or just wait it out!

Exactly! I'm a great student! I have all A's in my major and I really don't want to stop school, I' still haven't run out of steam! I'll definitely keep you informed, thanks for your help!

I turned in my app on Jan. 9th and was waitlisted Feb. 24th. I hope I get off the waitlist! CSULB is not my top choice but a firm offer would be nice! haha

That's why I'm thinking! You know, you go to grad school to "master" a field of study. I really hope my lack of experience doesn't hold me back, I know that I can perform at the top grade-wise. I have around a year or so of experience, but that's not much considering how much experience most people have! I am in undergrad at a CSU. I'm only 22, so I'm thinking that might be a factor that is hurting me too. Seems like SW programs like older and returning students. It makes sense, more life experience and work experience is helpful for this field. I hope we are classmates!!

Wow! Well hopefully they get back to you soon! That's a loooong time to wait! I have a high gpa but not much experience. I'm just nervous that they will call be out of the blue and catch me off guard! I realllly want to got to CSUN! I was waitlisted at two other schools so this is my last chance! Plus I love the program and the area! CSU's are the best programs for the price!

Hey! I got an interview request email. I sent them my availability on Friday, but they haven't scheduled me yet. What kinds of questions do they ask? Was it a phone interview? Do they interview people they want to confirm an acceptance or people that they are one the fence about? Eek! I just want to get it over with and get in!

Hey MROD, That's REALLY weird that you haven't heard by now. I received my waitlist letter on Feb. 24th. I know someone who got an aceptance letter at the same time. Maybe your application is really good and they are trying to eliminate one of your competitors. I would give them a call (though you probably have) and see what's up. I submitted on Jan. 11th so it wasn't exactly early in the season and I got a response.

I have really similar stats to yours. When did you submit your app? I think that is what really hurt me. I submitted right before the deadline on Jan. 10. I have around 800 hours of experience. And the same gpa. I'm trying to stay positive. So you are holding out for another school?

So I found out I'm position number 32 out of 55 on the waitlist..... I'm not getting in. I want to cry.....

Hey all! I hope your admissions are all going well! Congrats to all who have been accepted! For those of us who have not received an acceptance, but are waitlisted, how are you all doing? I've been waitlisted at two schools, accepted and rejected by none. I'm really hoping I get offered admission, so here's to playing the waiting game! Anyone have any insight how the CSU's waitlists work? Can you find out what your position number is?How likely is it to get off the waiting list? Thanks and good luck to everyone!
