But maybe they will open up a spot for someone who can so help.
-
If you don't mind me asking, when did you receive the email?
-
I would really enjoy that. However, I'm still on the fence as to what I should pursue, as there are professional reasons for not pursuing analytic theology and philosophy of religion. If the market weren't as terrible as it is, I would be more confident to pursue those interests. In any case, I would enjoy a reading group, to be sure.

Somehow this slipped by me. Sorry. I've been told that I'm in the middle of the quasi-ranked waitlist. I was also told that applicants have received an offer from my spot and lower.
-
I'm hoping those are just the special fellowship acceptances. Someone tell me that's reasonable.

Is no one going to talk about the UMass post? I'm only extremely interested.
-
My program seems to be in a similar situation. What a rough year.
-
	I'm also interested to know.

	Congrats!

Recieved official rejections from Chapel Hill and UT-Austin this morning. Lovely.
-
I know it's selfish, but I was really hoping this thread was going to fill up a bit more today, as I'm increasingly coming to grips with how dependent I am on my waitlists this season.
-
I'd also be very interested in getting clarification on this.

Anyone have reason to think Austin spreads out its acceptances?
-
Really hoping to hear from both UT-Austin and UMass-Amherst by next Monday.
-
The question is, now, who would be willing to start such a thread? What lovely person has the ability to start declining or announcing what s/he expects to decline?
-
Hoping that means something good for you!

Rejected from Notre Dame and MIT in one fell swoop. Ouch.
-
I like it. But that's because I'm neurotic. Also, all I've got going for me are my waitlists thus far.
-
Also received a rejection from Brown.
-
	Anyone want to claim Cornell?
-
I think that's good advice. I've been told from Indiana that applicants in my position have received offers before April 15th. So that's certainly encouraging. I suppose, though, that I was looking for some general probabilities regarding applicants getting in off waitlists, despite not being on or near the top. Although I suspect that, for most, that's just speculation, I thought I would ask in case someone had good reason to assign some non-arbitrary probability.

Well, today has been annoyingly slow so far (for me, at least). So I was wondering if someone could give me their perspective on something. It seems I am, probably, somewhere in the middle of the waitlist for both Indiana-Bloomington and Syracuse (though I know waitlists can be ranked in a very loose way). I've been told that I'm not at the bottom, but I've also not been told I'm at the top of either one; presumably if I were, they would say so. So the question is this: how likely do folks get accepted off waitlists in such positions? Is it pointless to make any predictions? Perhaps, but I'd like anyone's input.

Thanks! I thought I remembered seeing something like that. I'm still holding on to hope then.

I'd also like someone's input on this.
