MA2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Hi all! Just thought I'd start a place for anyone applying to MA/MPP admissions in IR or foreign policy (Georgetown MSFS, Fletcher, SAIS, SIPA, GW etc) to share information about the admissions process...has anyone heard anything back yet about their applications?
Yass Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Think most decisions don't come out until March, unless you applied for early decision etc.
roseyhoney Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 I heard back from American SIS and got accepted a couple weeks ago. I didn't really apply early either. WorldTraveler111 1
lfew Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Global Affairs at NYU accepted me back in October. Still waiting on others. WorldTraveler111 1
iskandera Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 For the moment I have received admission decisions from The Elliot School and from the School of International Service. I applied regular decision [January deadline] for both programs.
Hereforthecomment123 Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Received an admission email yesterday for the Elliot School for a MA via a professor... my portal hasn’t updated but the email said I should get a formal letter from the school sometime this week. I applied by the January 7th deadline.
iskandera Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Yes -- I can confirm the previous comment. Concerning the Elliot School, it was an informal email from a professor of my intended course of study letting me know that official documents were on the way.
Byrek Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 I like how schools said “mid March” and I’m taking that to mean I need to be refreshing every 5 minutes. In February. Heard back from American SIS pretty fast and that fueled the fire. Applied Jan 7 heard back last week.
whatdoesthismean Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 *starts panicking and vigorously checking email* I applied to Elliott also but for the MA in global communications with the SMPA. No such email for me, but I guess all I can do is wait and hope decisions come out soon. Congrats to those already admitted! Solidarity to the rest of us.
roseyhoney Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Waiting for Elliot and Fletcher, got into AU SIS and Denver. Just trying not to go cray here lol
PupCakes Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 I've gotten an official acceptance letter from SIS and the informal email from Elliott. Still waiting on SAIS (rumor has it decisions are rolling out on March 6th) as well as MSFS. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

I would deduce the MA in Global Comm will be a separate approach so I would not worry too much. I applied for the MA in Intl Affairs and I am assuming hereforthecomment123 applied for the same program. Still waiting on Fletcher, SIPA, Walsh, SAIS, LSE, and SciencesPo.
WorldTraveler111 Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 I just received word from Rice University that I was accepted into their MA- Global Affairs program. Congratulations to all those who have received acceptances thus far. Sending positivity for those who are still awaiting responses.

DC_COFFEE Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Waitlisted at SFS a couple days ago. Waiting to hear from SAIS today! Good luck everyone.
DC_COFFEE Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Looks like SAIS notifications are being released! I received an acceptance letter via the portal (they sent an email telling me to check it). The letter says any financial awards will be released later today. Anyone receive $$ from SAIS for the regular deadline? PupCakes 1
