Received CGS-D from 187 about an hour ago (only checked an hour ago, could have been earlier). Ranked 2/227. Will have to decline unfortunately for personal reasons, hopefully it goes to someone else who can do some awesome molbio research with it! Good luck everyone!

2/227!! super impressive. Im so proud of you, achieving that would be huge for me so I hope you can appreciate the impact you have on the world and the molbio research hub!

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! :) I'm actually quite surprised myself with the ranking, I kinda feel like these awards just judge you based off of how many prior publications you have, which is tough when you're trying to get your foot in the door. I remember when I applied for CGS-M in 2015, with no publications, 1st year of my Master's and fresh out of undergrad and was rejected outright. Took a lot to get the publications that gave me the boost. To those who didn't get it, please don't give up!

Hi folks. I’ve been lurking for a while but created an account to post. Does anyone else feel like their scores were really low? I have 2 first author publications, a 4.0 gpa, and I felt my proposal was fairly strong. However, I only scored 28 and 30 respectively.

I don't know to be honest, I've requested to see any written comments about my application because I'm curious. However, I do find it weird that your score is lower than you expected. Getting two first author publications should give you a huge boost. Have you made a request for any written comments?

Hi. I made an account to ask this question - it has been bugging me the entire night, and I think I am going down the rabbit hole.
In the letter for result notification, there is <Application No.: PGSD3 - 5xxxxx - 2020>. Is that 5xxxxx number supposed to match the NSERC PIN number?

Thanks!

That's a good question. I have no idea, but I can tell you that mine do not match.

Mine doesn't either , it also doesn't overlap with the reference number on my initial application.
