McMaster MSc Global Health Fall 2021

Just wanted to share that I got in today and just accepted! I'm not sure if it appeared on Mosaic first, but that seems to be the case for most people so keep checking there. I also got a grad scholarship of $2,500, not sure if scholarships vary but saw some people asking about this. As far as stats go, when I applied I had an 11.0 GPA for the most recent 10 courses, but in my final year this went up to an 11.8. I found this thread super helpful, so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask!! Good luck everyone!

@Science101 Congratulations!!! So happy to hear that you got accepted!!! I had a quick question: does the admission committee only look at the most recent 10 courses you completed before the application deadline or do they also consider the Winter 2021 term courses as well (which would be completed after the application deadline)? For example, my GPA for the most recent 10 courses is 11.1 will I be deemed admissible based on that GPA or will they also consider my grades from the Winter 2021 semester as well?

Thank you so much! So as far as I understand it, the 10 most recent courses leading up to the application deadline are what they consider, alongside other factors unrelated to GPA. After this, I believe you just need to maintain a B+ average in the final year (so Fall 2020 and Winter 2021).

I think the program usually makes an official FB group once all spaces are filled, but I'd be down to join an unofficial group for the time being!

Yes haha, I meant an unofficial group  Would love to hear where everyone's at, see if any of us have any important info that someone else might have missed, etc!

Hey! Sorry for taking so long to answer I've been super busy at work the past few days. I just checked and my GPA on my application was 11.7 but as a few other people have been saying, I don't think your average is the main factor that contributes to your acceptance into the program. Good luck to everyone still waiting, hopefully more people hear back this week!

So like I heard there are server issues with McMaster now... so I am not too sure if that plays a role in us hearing back today?

possibly - mosaic has been slow for me and i know they are switching from google to windows (outlook) starting tomorrow so that could also be why!

Hey! Someone on a reddit post said that the date to accept their offer is May 20. Does that mean that most acceptances have been sent out already considering may 20 is 3 days away then?

Hmmm good question! I think maybe - they might be holding off on any further decisions until they get an understanding of how many ppl have accepted or declined and then send more decisions after that...

I tried calling them again and they picked up. They said the same thing ... high volume of offers... being processed through SGS. Every admission decision will be sent out by the end of May
