yugi666 Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Has anyone heard from the Princeton Soc PhD program? I saw two admits but haven't received a rejection yet; from what I gathered in recent years, the acceptances and rejections all usually get sent out at around the same time?
cuppacoffee Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Another Princeton question – has anyone heard from the Joint Degree Program (Sociology and Social Policy)?
Willow585 Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 BU already host an admitted student virtual event yesterday, but it seems like they also have a waitlist, hope that helps!

Their stipend is TINY, despite having a very high cost of living. In my opinion, I'm not sure people can actually afford to attend Washington without having to find other financial means. Additionally, in my experience, Minnesota is way better respected than Washington in Sociology, despite the fact Washington ranks a little higher right now. @awesome3141 I know you've gotten into a bunch of top programs (way to go!). Would you be willing to share how the funding packages compare? Did most places offer 1-2 years of fellowship? Did anyone guarantee RAships? CinnamonCream 1
imtiredlmao Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 reached out to UVA, and the director of graduate admissions let me know that decisions should be going out by tonight! i'll take the lack of an explicit acceptance as a rejection. <3 good luck to all of you! CinnamonCream 1

the_blue_danube Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Hey! Is anyone else in this forum planning on accepting an offer from CU Boulder? I would love to connect if so:)
wzzzzzz Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 Now that most results are out, is it time for a "decision" thread? CinnamonCream 1
polsoc2021 Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 Absolutely going crazy waiting for NYU lol the_blue_danube, CinnamonCream, anxiousapplicat and 4 others 7
Jujujujujujuju Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Received two rejection letters back to back today. Very sad. CinnamonCream 1
wzzzzzz Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Anyone hasn't heard back from Johns Hopkins? I saw both acceptances and rejections went out a while ago. All I want is closure.

Seems that rejections are out, but no one declare waitlist or more offers.
polsoc2021 Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 I called NYU (unsurprisingly) and they said decisions were sent out Mon/Tues but to wait a week “just in case” ??? Lol don’t decisions either go out or they don’t? Also I was told that acceptances aren’t necessarily being sent out before rejections (or vice versa)

It's like they have no idea what they are doing. Willow585 1

anxiousapplicat Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Hi y'all I was rejected by NYU. I really thought I had a good chance there, but it is what it is! Good luck to you all, I hope you make it to where you want to be! With this, I'm abandoning a US PhD, I'll be trying other places. deadinside and CinnamonCream 2
deadinside Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 A rejection for me as well, it was a disappointing season. Next year I'll try Europe as well. Good luck to everyone! anxiousapplicat 1
