I also interviewed on Jan 31st and my interviewer asked about who I want my advisor to be, so maybe they are still pairing people. She also said sometime in February ?…I am so nervous.

I'm curious what they told you guys about seats? I was told they have 8 spots in the department and they're interviewing like 3-4 people per spot.

Is the invite for prospective student day for DrPH and/or PhD?

the email says PhD student. wasn't sure whether PhD & DrPH share the same process.

I didn't ask. Wow, even more anxious.

Oh gosh I didn't mean to make you more anxious! Judy sort of volunteered this information without me asking. I'm wishing you the very best of luck and hoping it all works out!

I applied to DrPH at BU and neither expected nor received an invite for a second round interview. What program did to apply to? Your post is now making me freak out too.

I'm applying for the PhD program (health services). Sorry for making you so stressed!!

Is anyone else REALLY struggling to stay calm/positive during this process? I hate just anxiously waiting and checking my email every ten minutes and looking at every update on the results page and overthinking everything and it is just taking a toll on me

really, really, really feel you here. the only time i am able to disconnect and not think about it all is when i am not home and off my laptop. even during work i am constantly checking everything. i need distractions!!!

Some schools seem to have already sent interviews or rejection emails to some students, but I haven't heard from them.
Is no news good news? Or should I send an email to the school admissions office?

FINALLY!!!!!!!!! Got admitted to my dream program at GW!!! Like I said before, they only accept 1-2 applicants each year, so I'm still not gonna say which program, but like I said it's not Epi nor SBS. Considering that these programs usually accept more than 2 students, I guess that was a given, anyways. I've seen a few people in this forum that applied to SBS or Epi at GW, so for those people, if GW is your top choice school, hope I get to see you all in DC!!

Has anyone got the interview of SBS from Yale, JHU and NYU?

I'm thinking probably none of us have heard back Yale SBS--seems like multiple of us have heard they are likely not taking a cohort this year sadly! For JHU, rejected from PopFam but still no word back from HBS!

Just heard back from the University of Washington Health Services for an interview! ? I was starting to get nervous not hearing back. I've had radio silence so far from everywhere else I applied. Here's the full list...

Harvard - Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS/PHS) - Rejected 2/7

Hopkins - Social & Psychological Influences on Health (SBS)

OHSU/PSU - Community Health

UCLA - Community Health

UMN - Health Services Research

UNC - Health Behavior  - Interview 2/8

UW - Health Services - Interview 1/30, waitlisted 2/13

Good luck everyone!!

Updating the thread - I got waitlisted at UW. I got the feeling that would be the outcome after the interview, it wasn't my strongest and it was *so* rushed (I had 7 minutes to answer 3 questions - why UW, why now, and describe a challenge and how you overcame that) that I wasn't able to elaborate on what I thought was my relevance to the program.

Holding out for UNC, but the program seems to be focusing on smaller cohorts and has less funding this year (and maybe in the future?) so I'm also not optimistic about my chances.

I've also been applying to some European PhD positions...I'm thinking in the long run, that will be a better fit for me anyway. I've found some projects that really speak to me topic-wise and methodologically, with the possibility to do entirely qualitative dissertation research! No American program that I spoke to has been receptive to that.

I haven't heard anything back from the other programs I applied to. Time to start looking for a job!

Hmmm yeah I was in Yale's interview event yesterday and all candidates introduced ourselves but I didn't heard anyone is in SBS. But I do remembered one of your professors introduced the SBS track and seemed pretty optimistic of recruitement, maybe just your track has another admission route? Don't give up yet there's still a lot of opportunities!

I'm sorry to hear that. Did you interview with JHU's popfam program?

I think most of other programs were there at the same day! There were students in two epi tracks, biostat, env health, and health policy. Sorry for not saying which one I was in because I don't think I behaved very well in the interview and other candidates were all so amazing. I really don't want to think about it again ?

Did international students get invited?
I applied to EMD and I'm waitlisted
