There's a home for all of us. Like you said, not your top fit, and that's certainly taken into account in decisions Aztec 1
Aztec Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 That's a good point. Fit seems to be a major factor in admissions. And it is just the beginning of the cycle... (although Princeton already may have sent results LOL)

(although Princeton already may have sent results LOL) As someone leaving another school due to bad fit, I know you are definitely right. I was very targeted with my apps but it is always interesting to see how things play out in a department that might have a subfield that is like 65% one focus and 35% the one that fits you. I am also always so fascinated with whether others call out profs from what they intend to minor in. My experience in the classroom is that those profs are just as critical to your success as your major profs, but is it bad strategy to call that out in an SOP? One might never know. vbffx1371hcrbi 1
lalalalalala123 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Just don't understand why one school can't send out all of their results(rej/acceptance ) at the same time. It is such a torture. chairman mao 1

qampus Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 This week is one possibility, although this could stretch to as far as the middle of Feb.

juliacar Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Good luck out there today folks pastapal, Senochka, Gabbiew and 4 others 7
securityscholar Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Got my first reject from WUSTL. Disappointing since I thought I drew lessons from my first application cycle. I am afraid this cycle might be fruitless, too, especially when the remaining schools are way more competitive.
ANGRYSHYMAN Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Any reason for schools to not send out all rejections at once? Not accepted nor rejected from WUSTL... waitlisted?

qampus Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Now I am here to claim one of those recent WUSTL rejections. International, CP/IR, qualitative, straight out of BA (no MA), one co-authored publication, one co-authored conference paper, work experience, participation in several PoliSci/Economic forums.
politicallygrad Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Generally speaking, last week of January. Sth like 20-26 Jan. Then there are rejections, or second call of acceptances.

They might have finished all the interviews but not every field/faculty interviews applicants. One of my POIs reached out to me without any interview.
Crossed_fingers Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Following realbadgal's lead and put in a signature. Love being able to see where everyone else applied and how it's going for them! Realbadgal 1

Applying for basic the same places, but NYU. Also in CP. I will update my signature as well. Good initiative. Realbadgal 1
