I have a question from those accepted to Berkeley IR (or any other top 15 poli sci school). How was your quantitative background? I have a very strong qualitative background (worked as an RA, managed a researched lab, did field research, publications, two masters, great GPA and GRE, and lots of international experience). However my quant background was not very strong as I was applying from law. Just wanna know what was wrong with my application to make it rights next time :(:(

It really depends on the school, though I will say a lot of the top 15 are unfortunately very heavily quant-based schools. However, in my experience (hearing people in my first-year cohort who are qual-heavy talk about their application process), if you can sell your qualitative research interests well (and answer the question "why is qualitative research the best for my question"), targeting those few qualitative scholars in those schools on your statement is likely to get those faculty members to vouch for you during the selection process.

What are the thoughts on the UCLA acceptances, kinda odd we only heard from 2 and none reported on this forum (to my knowledge, mightve missed a post or two)

Someone did claim last night (they also had a Berkeley acceptance if I remember correctly)

Claiming UChicago offer. Not the one already posted on result page tho. International applicant.

Congratulations. Did you receive email from the University or did you check through your application portal?

By the way, did you get your Master degree from US Universities or abroad? I applied to Chicago as well, Comparative Politics Tracking and from non-US institution.

Received an email from program head. I’m an international student at a US college. Applying straight out of undergrad.

I heard back from them. It was on the portal, notification from the graduate school (not the department). I got an email at 1 am CT

hi, y'all. couple of questions:

GWU: whoever got rejected received any email or just randomly checked the portal? Mine is unchanged, I'm assuming it's some waitlist

EDIT: GWU was kind enough to erase my questions by posting a rejection on the website lol. No email.

UChicago: anyone from CP among the admits? any rejects? Portal has nothing, looks like this:

Any fellow applicant with AP focus hearing back from Northwestern? I am wondering whether AP admissions are included in the first round of Northwestern decisions, which seems to have come out earlier this week.

Just out of curiosity—for those of you who received an offer, can anyone share how much stipend are they providing each year? Thanks!

I was offered 35k+ from one. For other uni, no solid offers yet.
