Thank you for making this forum! It’s nice to see space to support each other during the application process.

I applied to eight schools and just heard back from the first yesterday! Accepted to Penn SP2 with a $22K scholarship. Waiting to hear from other schools and get financial aid info from Penn before deciding.

Anyone have any ideas when financial aid packages will come out?

I don't have any info on financial aid but just came here to congratulate you! I also got into Penn and am deciding between Penn and Bryn Mawr. I want to go the clinical track (LCSW) and stay in the Philly area so still not sure which is the right choice yet for me. I got a grant at Bryn Mawr. Best of luck to you!

When did you submit your applications by? Wondering how long I'll be waiting to hear about acceptances...

I applied by the 12/1 deadline for most programs!

Congrats on getting in to Penn and Bryn Mawt that’s so exciting! I’m thinking macro but clinical sounds so fun too. Best of luck deciding!

Congratulations on your acceptances thus far! $22k scholarship is awesome! I wish I had more information to give you. Also, I am new to using Grad Cafe, I'm not seeing any options to reply to a specific comment...is that normal?

I would love to know the other schools everyone applied to. I submitted my applications earlier this month for: UNC-Chapel Hill (priority deadline), University of Central Florida (online), University of North Florida (priority deadline), and University of South Florida. I really would love to leave Florida, but that in-state tuition is hard to beat! I am considering Florida State University, but living in Tallahassee isn't appealing to me and their online program doesn't have a fixed rate if I were to move out of state. I'm considering applying to another online MSW program so if you have any respectable, affordable recommendations, I'd love to know! :)

I’m not sure if I saw a GPA minimum anywhere, most schools evaluate applications holistically! I think the average is above 3.5 though.

I also applied to UNC Chapel Hill! Other programs I applied to are Penn SP2, WashU (just got in!), and then I’m waiting to hear back from Boston College, Boston University, Columbia, UMich, University of Washington, UChicago, and Georgia State (my state school). I applied to most schools by their priority deadlines! I’m also looking to leave my home state but agree in state tuition is hard to argue with! Currently am stressing about how spread out decision notifications are, but trying to be patient!

Best of luck to everyone on their applications.

Hi all! Thanks for making this thread!

I applied to UMich, UChicago, IUPUI (my state school), and Loyola University in Chicago, all by the 12/1 deadline. Got into UMich, Loyola, and IUPUI, still waiting to hear from UChicago-- my top choice! No word on financial aid yet...

Congrats on your acceptances, I hope you hear back from UChicago soon!

Can I ask when you heard back from Michigan? I also applied by the 12/1 deadline and am still waiting to hear from them - hoping it comes soon!

I heard back from Michigan on Dec 22, I was very surprised to hear that early! They called me and updated my portal on Wolverine. Still nothing on funding. I'm sure you'll hear back soon, though!

Has anyone heard back from Columbia, NYU, or Boston University?

I applied priority for Columbia 12/1, Boston 1/5, and NYU 1/4.

Good luck to everyone!

I also applied to Columbia by 12/1 and just reached out to them bc it’s been more than the eight weeks they say for hearing back. Not sure if this is true of everyone’s applications but they said mine was still under review and they’d get back to me within the next three weeks, so I’m guessing it’ll be towards the end of the month.

NYU website says we'll hear by 2/17 if applications were in by Jan 6

Otherwise waiting on Columbia, BU, BC, and Hunter

I applied to Boston College, Michigan, Penn, and Columbia. So far I've heard from everyone but Columbia. When I reached out to them a couple weeks ago they told me a would receive an answer within a week, but I still haven't heard anything. Waiting to hear from them before making a decision.

Has anyone heard from Columbia School of Social Work for Fall 2023?

Submitted my application on 12/19, got an email on 2/7 (automated) confirming that everything has been received. When can we expect to hear? Would love to know if anyone has insight :) Thanks
