JoeySsance Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 the first word that got my eyes - Queer I thought it would be, which is why I played around with the layout to see which word would end up embedded inside the "Q." I like how it ended up being "Ph.D." That juxtaposition happens to say a lot about my academic commitments. mssyAK, JoeySsance, Alyanumbers and 1 other 4
HyacinthMacaw Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Here is my Wordled statement. I'm applying to Ph.D. programs in social psychology that specialize in intergroup relations. All the best during the application process!
natsteel Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Mine isn't as cool as some of the others, but here it is anyway...

geodrake Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Too cool to pass up. I wonder if including the Wordle at the bottom of our apps would have counted towards the SoP page count or not . Too late for me, my apps are in. Ah well =)
HyacinthMacaw Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Sorry, for some reason the image wasn't included in my previous post. Hope it works this time.

waddle Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Guys, I'm screwed. Just kidding. Replacing "research" with "cheesecake" makes your SOP so much better. I also replaced/expunged most all identifying information, including replacing my advisors (Gerbil, Hamster), relevant schools (Anthill, Molehill), & my research targets (butter, margarine, cream), and cutting out the intro, fit (most of it) & concluding paragraphs. Sorry--the other stuff is easily identifiable by adcoms (yeah, I'm just being paranoid, but it's better to be safe than sorry). Bukharan, Nessie, Langoustine and 10 others 11 2
Alyanumbers Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Guys, I'm screwed. Hahahaaa, waddle, this totally cracked me up!
Scottielass Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 This was so much fun. Thanks to OP for sharing. I wonder if I can put this at the end of my electronic portfolio. Like a bonus feature .
qbtacoma Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 (edited) Here's mine! Actually, after struggling for a bit, I have given up inserting the image. Here's the link. Wordle Edited January 9, 2011 by qbtacoma eklavya and katerific 1 1
OnceAndFutureGrad Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 This is so cool! This is now my netbook background too. I re-rigged it a few times until "Medieval" "Art" "History" appeared in that order. Although one iteration was the perfect outline of a shoe patten, that was neat.
apieceofroastbeef Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Mine is pretty telling if you know who I am or have read my SOP on applyingtograd, but what the heck:

I'm not even worried about adcoms looking me up because I'm probably not getting in anywhere.
gradschoolorbust! Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Hey, it's me again! At one point I had an awesome fish-shaped design. However, thanks to my ridiculous fussing, it is long gone. So this is about as close to a fish as I'll probably ever get it again (not that my SOP has anything remotely to do with fish). I wonder if anyone realized that my wordle was the lyrics of Daft Punk's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, plus that infamous top ten list of words overused in grad school, plus part of a legit SOP. I have to admit though, the cheesecake one really does take the... cake. waddle, sputnik, katerific and 1 other 4
