Claiming SUNY at Buffalo! Email notification came to check the portal. However, scholarship did not been awarded, even though I am thrilled to be accepted! I am looking for a chance that other people who decline the offer with the scholarship and get, since it is still early season for looking admissions decisions.

Will I get a chance to be funded?

buffalo is one of the two flagships under SUNY, and (unlike CUNY) haven't had any funding problems thus far. you definitely will be considered for a fully-funded scholarship, though the offer letter might take some time! congrats!

Congrats! Sounds like you might have a shot, might be worth shooting them an email?

Will this be okay to send right away? I am thinking of sending of my scholarship reconsideration to DGS in mid-February or March, since declination would likely to come. And I don’t know how to ask DGS for what in my email. Any advice?

Did they *tell* you that you didn't get funding, or has the funding offer letter just not come yet?

If it's the latter, I'd hold off - that's quite normal

absolutely reasonable to send an inquiry letter asking about the scholarship/fellowship status, though as fizzan has pointed out it may take some time for the department to sort out the exact package.

The acceptance letter said, due to lack of funds, I am not be able to get teaching assistant and tuition scholarship in this time, however, I will be reconsidered if funding available due to declination.

What should I do?

I am assuming I'm rejected/wait listed at Illinois at this point 🙃

still justified to send an inquiry asking when the funding status will be determined, but it seems that the department has to pay out stipends through their general reserve, which is not a good sign. could be a sign that they are expecting to enroll just a small handful of students.

Oh wow really? Cause during my interview the prof said smt like by the end of January... But I guess my interview was super early (Jan 5th) so maybe they decided that they needed more time?

Yeah, I don't know. They reached out to me around the same time as other people here were reporting interview requests, but they scheduled it for this week, so I figured they would be releasing decisions later than last year.

I'm surprised we haven't heard back from Wisconsin yet. They did their interviews some time ago and normally submit these days.
