cokohlik
feel like checking this forum will somehow make their decisions come in the mail/email faster? Because I do, even though it's not true
DrPepper-olic
Me too. I also feel like I'm more likely to get an acceptance email. I want one so bad. I can't help it!
neuropsychosocial
feel like checking this forum will somehow make their decisions come in the mail/email faster? It certainly seems to make time pass more quickly for me - I sit down to read gradcafe and boom, it's two hours later!
diggergurl
reading it makes me feel like I'm doing something, rather than just passively waiting!

farnsworth
This forum keeps me sane. I lurk more than I post. This is the perfect description for me as well. Seeing all these other people in the same situation as me makes me feel better. Misery loves company kind of thing.
wook
Haha, I feel exactly the same way! I have definitely incorporated reading gradcafe into my (hourly) routine of obsessive application status checking!
The Dudester
My first post, but have been on here near constantly since I first started hearing from schools. Knowing everyone else is as neurotic as I am has been soothing.

NoMoreABD
This is SO true. I also check my mail box twice a day, including on weekends when there's no mail service. As if the letter can get here before the email...
HyacinthMacaw
My first post, but have been on here near constantly since I first started hearing from schools. Knowing everyone else is as neurotic as I am has been soothing. You got it! When you're here, you're family. But unfortunately we don't offer any never-ending pasta bowls or free salad and breadsticks. I have also relied on GradCafe for comfort, support, and humor. FutureSLP
I checked the mailbox today. Twice. Knowing full well that it's a Sunday and no mail comes on Sunday. I think once I get my first letter, regardless of what it says, these neurotic impulses will wane. That's what I'm hoping for anyway. Until then, this forum is helping to keep me sane. People around me keep remarking that this year is going by so quickly--why, just yesterday it seemed like Christmas!--and to me the time is not going by quickly enough.
