Is anyone else applying to developmental psych programs this year? If so, what schools? I've applied only to Canadian schools: UofT, SFU, UBC, and McGill.

I'm getting a little nervous because I know Canadian schools are notorious for being slow - I'm hoping I don't have to wait until June to find out.

I applied to a few developmental programs and/or joint programs with developmental (as well as clinical). I haven't heard anything yet - but most developmental programs have a later application due date than clinical programs, so I bet there will be an additional lag because of this compared to clinical programs.

I've heard from one joint school/developmental program... but only the school psych side of things.

I think we will have to be even more patient than those on here applying to applied psych programs. UNFORTUNATELY.

Best of luck.

I'm applying for a PhD in Lifespan Cognitive Development in Georgetown and a PhD in Human Development and Family Systems in Penn State as well as an MA at William & Mary. Going by the info on the results survey for last year I should start hearing back in a month or so but the wait is killing me!

I applied to 1 developmental program (University of Houston) just because they had a behavioral neuroscience lab (which is what I am mainly applying to)!

I have applied to a developmental psych program at Howard University which is a really great program and I am praying that I get in with funding. I called sometime last week and they told me they were in the process of reviewing my app. I also applied to other psych programs and edu programs, it just depended on how the school had my research interests labeled.

I applied to mixed ed and developmental psych too because my interests were also labeled as different departments depending on the school. I have a strong ed background, not so much psych. How strong do you think a good candidate needs to be in each area? Or maybe it depends on your research interests...

I applied to the PhD program in Human Development at the University of Maryland. Does anyone know whether or not they have interviews?

yes they have interviews .. i am a current student in the program .. do not come here. for your own good. the program is broke and cannot support their own students, despite what they may tell you at recruitment day. the program is a mess.
