Post the Application Status That's Ruining Your Life

Recommended Posts

"Congratulations! You have been admitted. You will be contacted shortly with further details."

Why is this ruining my life? Because I am 110% convinced that it is a mistake. This program was a long shot for me to begin with and on top of that A ) Interviews are supposed to be part of the admissions process and I was never invited for one and B ) I'm 99% sure I did part of the application wrong...

Theres also an alert that the system will be under maintenance this weekend, so maybe thats why? Because I cannot possibly have been admitted...

"No need to apologize for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we have already made our first round offers of admission. At this point, you have not advanced to the final round of applicants. I hope this information helps. "

What does this even mean?!

Mine says nothing about being under review, even. Quite simply: "no decision has been made." it also says my application is incomplete because they haven't received my GRE scores which, according to the office manager, isn't an issue. Still, frustrating. Thanks for your cooperation, ETS.

First week of July via phone "you should have a decision by the first week of September" (they contacted me)

Via email second week of Sept. "you should have a decision by the end of the week" (upon updating my resume as stated to do on apply yourself)

Via email last week "we hope to have decisions out by the end of next week" (upon my asking for a status update)

Still no decision and all apply yourself does is say my application is complete and to check back frequently for updates.

It can be nerve wrecking waiting to get accepted. I am a second year grad now in CSD but I totally remember the "wait game"

I sympathize for you!

Good luck! I hope you get in!
