If Germany just found out, Denmark has to be next, right?

Gah, you made my heart stop for a second! Are you waiting on Denmark too? I keep telling myself it's totally going to be Friday, but then lots of previous years heard first week in April...

Seeing people talking about Denmark made me want to join in...clearly I'm having a very unproductive day at work.

Oh goodness, me too. Any. Day. Now!

I saw somewhere that they only recommend up to 1.5 - 2 people or so per available spot for full grants, so I figure there are maybe 8, 9, or 10 of us in the whole country sitting here, waiting for the Denmark decisions. I think at least 3 of us are on this forum now...have y'all added your info to the Google doc?

My money's on Friday.

Is Friday a holiday?

Yes come to think of it, I think Friday is a holiday for state employees. :'(

EDIT: Or maybe I'm wrong? But my boyfriend works at a public university and he has Friday off so I thought it was because of being a public employee.

I've been wondering this as well. Will IIE have the next few days off (Thurs-Mon) for the Easter holiday?

A 5-day weekend for Easter seems excessive. I would think they might have Friday and/or Monday off but probably not Thursday?

if we all get over there, i suggest a meet-up in georgia.

That would be sweet.

Yes! Gotta get my khachapuri on.

Yes! I love khachiburi..but just about anything from the Caucasus is bound to be delicious.

Congrats on receiving news Germany full grant applicants. ETAs - hopefully you'll hear in the immediate future :-)

On another note: Anybody else notice that only the countries that have a projected number of awards have heard? Whyyyyyyy???

I turned in my senior thesis and got the good Fulbright news all in one day. A 100 pound weight is lifted off my shoulders. Now it's time to eat my feelings. Wishing all the best to those still waiting for decisions. Hopefully it shan't be too much longer. =)

Does anyone know how placement works for Germany? When I applied, I submitted only one host affiliation (because I thought they only accept one...), but I have other labs also in mind. Is there any room for change?

I don't know much about the full grant program, or about host affiliations, and the person who I'm about to reference did a Fulbright like 10 years ago or something...so definitely take all that I'm about to say with a huge grain of salt.

Anyway, one of my professors said that after you are accepted into the program, what you do doesn't really matter that much.  Not to say it doesn't matter, but that they figure you're motivated enough to do something, so if your plans change somewhat from your proposal (in terms of what your project exactly entails) you're not going to be penalized.  It's more for you, and for the experience...and most projects usually change once you start working on them regardless (perhaps this is more true for a humanities project like she did, but still).

Point being, I would assume that they would have some flexibility with your project, if not also the location.  I don't know how much information they gave you in the original e-mail and/or if/when they plan to send you more, but I would definitely try to contact someone and let them know that there are other labs you might be interested in working with, and if so, what would be the best way to go about that.  They can't help you if they don't know!
