Congratulations to our new fulbrighters! That's fantastic :)

*hurls into waste basket* oh god.

I feel the same... I wonder if Germany will also notify their applicants earlier (ie soon) since emails usually go out early/mid March..........

Ah, another fellow German applicant. Seems to be a good number of us. I'm just assuming that with the precision and efficiency and that goes with German processes in general, we should hear soon.

Going for a full or ETA? Didn't see your name on the spreadsheet.

Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking. Although that makes me all the more anxious. Going for full - what about you?

Yep, a full grant to Indonesia.  I'll be in Bandung.  Very VERY exciting!!!  That's tons of motivation for me to hurry up and graduate.

Congrats to all the Indonesia grantees! You really lucked out hearing back from the committee so soon. This page tells me there's 18 more of you out there somewhere, so congrats to you too!

Can we confirm that only the full grant, and not the ETA applicants, have been informed? I have a friend who applied to the Indonesia ETA program, but I don't want to probe. I don't even know if she's a finalist because it's not something I'm comfortable bringing up in conversation.

As for the rest of us, I'd advise not getting our hopes up. I doubt that all of the decisions are going to come a month early because one country was super organized. Of course that would be awesome if they did all come earlier - maybe they've digitalized the process so that decisions and communication can come through faster? But I still don't (personally) expect to hear anything before late March, and I'd advise everyone to continue with your normal expectations and cross your fingers that I'm wrong.

I got one.... Holy cheese on a cracker. I was awarded a full research grant to Indonesia. I think I might explode.

I do remember from last year's forum that the email subjects read either (P), (ALT), and (NS).  Knowing this, are we going to even have time to brace ourselves...

Well, It was from "Fulbright U.S. Student Program" an email at iie.org and titled "Fulbright Application Status (P)"

What does the "P" stand for?

Posted

The "P" stands for picked...hahaha just kidding, but that's basically what it means, right?

lol, "positive" doesn't really make sense, imagining that the rest are negative. I'm sure they might use a P letter in the selection email.

UK folks- just had my interview, it was about 8 minutes tops! They are very relaxed. I am hoping I was coherent, I think I talked way too fast lol

Ahhh I'm so nervous- mine is tomorrow!!

Do you mind if I ask what sorts of things they asked you about? I have absolutely no idea what they'll even ask about or how to prepare, and as you can tell, am freaking out.

I don't post on here very often, but it's just so nice to remember that I'm not the only one dreaming about rejections and freaking out every second. I think everyone around me is tired of hearing about it, and a rejection will feel pretty terrible.

On a different note, this idea about a (P) (ALT) or (NS) is making me so angry. I need ample time to prepare myself before I open the email. Are we 100% sure that the subject line will tell us the result?
