If people are willing to share, I was wondering what the stats (GRE, GPA, undergrad major, whatever else) are for the people who who've been accepted into programs, or who are still waiting. Mostly I'm curious how comparable the stats are for those who have been accepted/applied to the same program. I'm nearly convinced that I was accepted because of my work experience, LOR's, and SOP, and not my scores, so I was just wondering about other applicants.

I'll go first!

Rutabaga, what sort of research experience/publications do you have? It looks as though you've done well during the admissions season.

I have a whole bunch of scientific conference posters/presentations. Mainly as secondary author, but first on an oral last year. Publications is a lot more sparse with just the one that I finally got around to submitting being accepted this spring. I don't know if any one thing made me competitive though. My interests are also a little bit left field so that professors who do study what I want are perhaps a little more willing to take me on since it's not as common to see students pursuing my interests.

undergrad gpa: 3.87 (small-ish Jesuit university)

major: poli sci, foreign language (several policy courses, stats, econ)

660 v, 720 q, 5.5 AW

WE: semester internship, three years at a policy nonprofit, 1 1/2 of which part-time as I was still in school. A fair amount of quantitative work, co-authored several reports.

Personal background probably also relevant, but we're not going into that here. I'll just say I'm one of those folks who adds a little variety to the mix.
