MinervasOwl
Hey, What software if any are are you all using to code qualitative data?
silver_lining
You mean aside from Nvivo? It would help to have a little bit more info on what you are doing.
rising_star
I've used both NVivo and Atlas.ti. The latter is much less expensive.
MinervasOwl
Thanks. Getting ready to code some interview data and trying to figure out which option to choose. Which one did you prefer? What do people think about dedoose?
Adelaide9216
Do you believe universities provide N-Vivo for free?
sofi
Two friends used QDAMiner and MAXQDA for their thesis work. They were both happy with them.
MinaminoTeku
Multiple colored highlighters and pens was my coding for my thesis. Good to know that software actually exists to do it for me xD E-P
Levon3
I use NVivo because it was required for a course. It does not work well on a mac (many features/tools are unavailable on the mac version, though if you want to partition your macbook to run windows too, you can work around it this way). And @Adelaide9216, my university provides it free on the lab computers, but not for downloading to personally-owned PCs.

You should ask. It's expensive for an institution to buy a bunch of NVivo licenses, especially if people are moving toward Dedoose or other options. Adelaide9216
Yeah, two people told me about Dedoose. Never heard of this one before. What do you think of it?
