MinervasOwl Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Hey, What software if any are are you all using to code qualitative data?
silver_lining Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 You mean aside from Nvivo? It would help to have a little bit more info on what you are doing.
rising_star Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I've used both NVivo and Atlas.ti. The latter is much less expensive.
MinervasOwl Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 Thanks. Getting ready to code some interview data and trying to figure out which option to choose. Which one did you prefer? What do people think about dedoose?
Adelaide9216 Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Do you believe universities provide N-Vivo for free?
sofi Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Two friends used QDAMiner and MAXQDA for their thesis work. They were both happy with them.
MinaminoTeku Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Multiple colored highlighters and pens was my coding for my thesis. Good to know that software actually exists to do it for me xD E-P 1
Levon3 Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I use NVivo because it was required for a course. It does not work well on a mac (many features/tools are unavailable on the mac version, though if you want to partition your macbook to run windows too, you can work around it this way). And @Adelaide9216, my university provides it free on the lab computers, but not for downloading to personally-owned PCs.

You should ask. It's expensive for an institution to buy a bunch of NVivo licenses, especially if people are moving toward Dedoose or other options.
Adelaide9216 Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Yeah, two people told me about Dedoose. Never heard of this one before. What do you think of it?
