2015 Acceptance Thread

OK, so someone posted an acceptance to the master's program at Western Ontario. Should we take that as an indication that Ph.D. acceptances will follow shortly, maybe even today?

I hope so! I'm so tired of waiting...

Just received word that I am on the waitlist for Baylor. To those other students on the waitlist do not despair about being on the waitlist as Alex Pruss indicated that this year they are committed to bringing in 5-6 graduate students as they have had smaller entering classes the last couple of years.

As a side note: I finally decided to register and post here after years of reading admissions data and reading the forum. This is my first round of applications and I am hoping that it will go well. Best of luck to everyone in the process.

This is my first post. Long time reader of the forum.

I just got news that I was admitted into Chicago. It's the first school I've heard back from directly, so I'm incredibly excited and relieved.

I really just want to say thanks to everyone who posts here. Your comments really helped me through the application process. And good luck to everyone in the rest of the process.

Posting in the right thread now:

Just been notified that I am in the wait-list for Miami. I was expecting a rejection by this time since the first acceptances were sent a week ago, so this is pretty good news!

congrats to you reixis! I hope that turns into an acceptance!!

I see someone posted a University of Virginia acceptance. Why does the date come up as "11 February" when it is still 10 February in the States? Are they international acceptances?

Also, does UVA usually post all of its acceptances at once (on one day), or over a period of several days?

Regarding your second question, did you try searching through the results?

Probably international. It's 11 Feb afternoon where I am right now (but only 12+am EST, I believe).

I think UVA does spread out its offers over a few days.  The first offers generally go to those one or two students who they nominate for a Jefferson Fellowship, which is a competitive university-wide fellowship.  They send other offers a couple days later (if I'm remembering correctly from last year).

Can anyone confirm the Brown acceptance? It's over a week before I predicted, and they usually notify most or all of their accepted students at once.

I was also surprised to only see one. Out of curiosity does Toronto usually send masters and PHD acceptances out at same time?

Also, Sid I saw the prediction for SLU is 5 days after the application deadline and SLU says not to expect responses until mid March on their website.

It looks like there's usually a gap between Toronto's PhD and MA acceptances. And thanks for the tip about SLU - do you know if they changed their application deadline from previous years? I was only basing my prediction on past release dates, and it's typically been mid-February.

I'm not sure. I was surprised to see SLU and Marquette so late.

Looks like we have a UCLA acceptance as well. As with the Brown acceptance, I'm a bit skeptical due to how early it is (UCLA typically doesn't release until the very end of February), so can anyone confirm it?

There's now a second Brown acceptance.

Never mind! I searched "philosophy brown" in TGC admissions results page, and what I thought was a second 2015 acceptance was in fact the last 2014 acceptance. http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=philosophy+brown&t=a&o=&pp=25. Oops.
