Is anyone applying for a second time? Didn't get in last year, and applying this year?

@rad1993 add me as a +1 for worried about price tags. I'd be moving to NY from Richmond, Virginia which is a pretty affordable city. It's going to be a huge financial burden to come to NY for school whether I go to NYU or Columbia but I'm hoping that the experience is worth it and that I get a decent financial aid package (as we all are hoping haha)

As someone who has gone to NYU for undergrad, living uptown by Columbia is far better in my experience than down by NYU. The space you get in the East Village is like a closet as opposed to the nicely spaced out rooms and living areas in apartments in Manhattan Valley/West Harlem. I'm living quite close to Columbia now and commuting down to NYU because it's so much cheaper up there! Grocery stores uptown are also relatively cheaper - though trader joe's is probably your best bet either at 72nd street or union square. Brooklyn is also pretty affordable (as far as New York goes) but the subways are not as reliable or often.

I personally didn't bother applying to NYU because they've made me jump through so many hoops to get my undergraduate degree, but what I've heard is that it's a great program at NYU! If you haven't lived in New York before, you're in for a treat. :)

To everyone else still waiting, I'm keeping you all in my thoughts! Keep us posted!

@rad1993, Thanks for all of that insight. Also, good to know about better apartments in the UWS compared to the Village.

Any current Columbia students free to answer questions about the program?

I've been very Zen waiting for Columbia, telling myself an email will come in due time. But I'm thinking of setting a deadline- if I don't hear by next Monday it will be time to call. In checking the Results page for last year, it looks like people got answers through April but hoping those are people who applied later.

Ps @puravida21 I got that email 4 minutes before they sent the official decision email so it must be a glitch or something.
