s1994 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 It seems like UCSD and WashU will wait until tomorrow or next week ;(
Determinedandnervous Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 UCSD may very well still do it today. It's 2:30 PM there.

studugarte Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Just seen these NYU acceptances. v happy for other but personally disappointed not to have heard anything. It was my number 1 fit!
whatwasithinking Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 @yaygrad so what kind of information did you get?
wpg205 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I was also among the Berkeley rejects. Also, got wait listed at NYU. Seems there are at least a few of us. Definitely don't know what to make of it, but it is definitely better than nothing.
twinsora Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 UBC Rejection received in e-mail. That makes 1 for 1!
Midwest_PoliNERD Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Hi everybody! Has anybody heard from the University of Chicago? I hear some did, others didn't. I don't know what to make of it. My application page hasn't changed at all. So any help would be great!

worryandhope Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) @abed @mwcain Chicago notifying some, not notifying others is in line with their past process. It means, with great likelihood, that those who have not heard have been rejected from the phd program. Sorry to the bearer of bad news. Do what you want with the information, but I'm counting it as a rejection and moving on. Edited February 5, 2016 by worryandhope
s1994 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I haven't heard anything from UCSD. Is it a good sign?
s1994 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Does UCSD usually release acceptances later than rejections? (http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=political+science+UCSD&t=a&o=&pp=25) Also, do you guys get an email from UCSD? Does the status on the website change? Thank you

That makes sense, I was just looking at past results from Chicago and counting it as a rejection (or at best a wait list) seems like the most probable option. Many of the rejected students from previous years seem to have been accepted to the MAPSS program or CIR MA program at the University with varying degrees of financial aid, so perhaps the delayed response for rejections has to do with secondary consideration for those Masters programs.

IndEnth Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 It's really super weird that UCSD would send out rejections before thei make offers. First time I'm hearing of a university doing that. (Not personally affected though, didn't apply. Sorry though that not everyone here made it in, it's a good school.)

Also weird that the rejections were out around 2am in California... Eobard Thawne 1
VMcJ Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 My question now is: after a Northwestern rejection and a highly probable rejection from NYU, how much of a chance could I have with my Ivy League applications? ( ) None ( ) No way in hell ( ) What were you thinking? ( ) Why bother, let's drink! ( ) Hope is the last to die. Wait for it. yasir8959 1

Don't know your profile, but it could be that NU and NYU did not deem you to have good fit but other schools will. VMcJ 1

I am telling myself this, but perhaps now is the time when one sees only weak spots in one's profile. But, hey, stranger things have happened.
