I'm thinking about it, but I'm waiting to see about awards. I think I have most of the pre-reqs though.

I haven't gotten any emails :( starting to freak out... does it seem like they sent out all the acceptances at once? A sunday night is really strange timing

Anyone applying to Adelphi should know what they are doing to their current students. An FYI tuition is now $85,000 to attend there. They have nothing together, it is a mess.

Wow and I thought Adelphi had their act together. I'm interested in their Sunday program. Anyone know about LIU? The advisor told me they have an online program now and are still accepting applicatiins.

Would someone be able to explain the DOE scholarship to me a bit? I am a bit confused about who is qualified for this and what the requirements are. Thanks for all of your help!

Do you currently go there? I'm very interested in their program, I knew someone who graduated their masters 2-3 years back and loved it. Do you feel things have changed?/ When do they typically send out acceptances/rejections?

I'm not eligible for this scholarship, but I want to make sure we understand its offer/implications. Is it saying that if you decide to attend Mercy or LIU or Brooklyn College (etc.), you can have your entire tuition funded by the DOE in exchange for ~4 years of "service" (work) in NYC's public schools?

(I am ineligible because I already benefited from a similar incentive program. A member of my cohort earned the degree and promptly moved out of state, but the only penalty was that she had to pay for her degree. Something to consider for anyone unsure of how to fund graduate school and open to working with the children of NYC. As a current public school teacher, I consider them a diamond-in-the-rough sort of delight, but I can see how others might be a bit leery.)

How important is it to keep checking your portals? I'm finding schools predominately send acceptances via email, and along with invitations for interviews through email and phone calls.

As March is finally here I find myself more and more anxious, refreshing emails, logging into portals. Although my portals only seem to say "received" "app complete" etc

I saw that some people got accepted into Nazareth yesterday, but I haven't seen any wait lists or rejections. I haven't heard anything from them but when I talked to admissions she said only the "first round acceptances" get emails and I have no idea what this means. I really don't want to get rejected it's my top school.

@np22 I've been checking my portals every now and again. I will say that I saw a rejection last week from one school in my portal that still hasn't been mailed to me. In one other case (UVa), I received an unofficial response via email that has still not been posted on my portal.

I'd say it's worth it if you're anxious like I am, but you will definitely get an answer sooner or later!

I keep freaking out every time someone else gets into Nazareth. Does anyone know how many rounds of acceptances they do?

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone here who is attending the department tour at SUNY Buffalo next week? I plan on flying in for the weekend and spending a night or two exploring the area.

Has anyone had any type of contact with Hofstra? They were my first application due (1/15) and I havent heard a thing, or seen anyone even mention it

Posted

I think someone said on the results page that hofstra won't be notifying us until mid March to early April. Someone also said that they extended their deadline to 2/15, but I don't know how true that is.

Has anyone heard from William Paterson? I emailed their general admissions email the other day to see when I might get a decision but they haven't responded.

I got a letter from Adelphi today - apparently I've been put on the waitlist. Considering this is my second time applying, I never thought I'd be so stoked to be put on a waitlist.

Serious question though -- since my waitlist notification was sent out during the first round of acceptances, does that mean I'm high up on the waitlist? (Or is that just wishful thinking?) The letter didn't specify.

I finished my application in January (I think Adelphi had a Feb deadline), and I still haven't heard back. I also haven't heard from Stockton, William Paterson, or Montclair. Has anyone else been notified by any of them?

And tomorrow is Monday, anxiously awaiting updated portals, emails, and waiting for the mail :(

Another day, and nothing in the mail. Just a package from groupon (typically id be excited over this, but today i anxiously await)

My mailman is going to start to hate me, I may just start sitting on the porch and chasing him down:D IS THERE ANYTHING IN THAT BAG FOR ME!? *tries to be less crazy and paranoid*

@j_rae and @rzilby Did you apply through CSDCAS or the Adelphi site. If through the adelphi site-- When you go onto your portal to check your Adelphi application do you have a red X next to final transcript from ____ school? I have one, but i assume that is because I am still enrolled in my school until May. I assumed it was fine but the site of that X is scary

I applied through the Adelphi site. I don't remember exactly what it looks like, but I remember I did have an issue with my portal when I checked it a couple of weeks ago; apparently I put in the wrong school, so they were telling me they didn't have my transcripts even though they did (absolutely terrifying). I would definitely call them if you have any questions just to clear it up, they're super nice and helpful

Sorry, I applied through CSDCAS so I don't think I have access to the portal. :/
