I'm totally fascinated by how many people have viewed this thread but how few have responded to it (including me). This has all the makings of a social experiment.

Schools Applied To (in no particular order): The Ohio State University, University of Minnesota (Twin Cities), Rutgers, UPenn, Northwestern, and University of Maryland (College Park).

My website is still a work in progress--with many small adjustments still needed--but I have a short version of my artist statement and a smallish sampling of my artwork on there. I am applying with a combination of drawings and installations which center around the ideas of history and memory.

My site is also in progress--I decided to revamp it right before submitting all of the grad applications, and I haven't had a chance to flush it with all of the text it needs yet--but the images of my work are up there at least...

Schools I'm applying to: Northwestern, U of Chicago, UMichigan, Ohio State, and UI-Chicago.

I really like the work of "Permutational Landscape" I love the line work and the juxtaposition of the pieces, the line on the wall as well is perfect! Great work!

nice work everyone. stupid question: how do I make signatures show up? I'm not seeing anyone's!

Signatures should automatically show beneath the respective member's post (assuming you're logged in).  You can turn off all signature preferences by clicking the x and dropdown arrow just below the rating buttons on the right-hand side of the page.  Maybe you've accidentally hidden all signatures? If so, they can be reenabled in your account settings.

Are you possibly looking at this forum from a cell phone? When I check gradcafe from a cell phone, it doesn't seem to show people's signatures.

Thanks for sharing. Particularly like your piece "tread".  Good way to break up the composition with the red and cool use of thoughtful material. What are your thoughts behind using historied material? Also, did you show that piece somewhere in nyc?  I recall seeing it before checking out your website.  If you go to yale, you would love working with Anna Betbeze.  Best of luck, really cool work.

Hey Ya'll:

Newly design website: www.alexanderkevinwrencher.com

I do stuff canvas sculptural printmaking painting pieces, Ik it sounds kinda weird. I only applied to UCLA, SAIC and UPENN, just three schools sadly. Something weird happened to my Yale application, so I'm not sure if it even went through (Oh well, *shrugs). My first choice is UPenn, their international thesis sounds dreamy, young and fresh! Currently still undergoing my undergrad so no rush really, sending good vibes to everyones apps!!!!

@BlCEO- Your works was my favorite last year, surprise that you didn't land somewhere! I'm sure this year is your year, good luck man!!!!

Hey thanks I really appreciate it.

I tend to use loaded materials/imagery in my work.  Mostly because I have a connection to the objects I am using.  Tread is made up of items and objects from my past, that were hard for me to let go of due to their significance. Instead of symbolically destroying them, I figured I'd use them in my work. My process engages and helps me sort out issues I'm dealing with at the time.  The materials I use help viewers connect emotionally to my work, instead of just being 100% process based.

Now that I say this, I should of included it in my statement.  Dammit.

I did have a couple similar pieces shown in NYC. But this piece I have not shown yet.  But you could of seen those pieces at Greenpoint Gallery, Reverse Space or at my Cooper Union Senior show,  if you've ever been to any of those.

Hey thanks man I appreciate it.  Last year I DGAF'd my way through the artist statement and sent work ranging from 2010-2014.  But this time I actually tried so hopefully someone bites!

Thanks and good luck to you as well!  I like the new site!

Nice work!  Did you apply to the painting or interdisciplinary studio program at UCLA?

Thank you for taking a look! I applied for the interdisciplinary studio program at UCLA, being considered a painter is odd for me. Did you apply at UCLA also?

I applied to Stanford and UC Davis.

Had a Skype interview with Davis today.

yeah the wait for Stanford is killing me! congrats on Davis by the by. and -- really nice work! it's funny, since they banned plastic bags in SF, I look at them as some kind of novelty (:
