I like to tell myself that I am buying clothes because it is necessary--I'm going into a new phase of life with grad school, etc. Complete justification. I agree it's completely justified! Im waiting to do this...I wait to see whether my wardrobe will be fit for California or other colder climates.
WendyWonderland Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Love this thread. So I am not the only crazy one here...I eat lots of stuff. Where to begin? Chocolate, I cook Chinese food, and I promise I will go to the gym but end up lurking on gradcafe.
FoxAndChicken Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 When I'm intoxicated I buy office supplies. I ain't even mad. I love my Pilot G-2 pens. nevermind 1

Pilot G-2 pens and Dixon Ticonderoga #2 HB pencils are the best. I'm left-handed, so Pilot G-2 pen's ink dries fast enough that it doesn't (always) smudge my hand. I wish I could splurge on new things, but I'm trying to reign in spending (to afford moving across the country + apartment deposits) and I don't want to pay to haul new stuff halfway across the country. I'm going through the process of downsizing (cleaned my kitchen and sorted out rarely-used appliances and knick knacks to sell). At least the money will go toward school supplies in the future!
Neist Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I'm boring. My favorite is good old Paper Mate Sharpwriters. Mmm. Bliss.
RosyPosy68 Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Well. I just accidentally ate a whole party-sized bag of Doritos in one sitting. Again.

But when I do stress-eat, it's typically pasta with homemade sauce with a healthy side of wine. I'm more on the wine with a healthy side of pasta end of things these days... But I feel you on that.
ancientqueen Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Our McDonald's just got Shamrock Shakes back so I'm about to stress eat (& drink?) the hell out of some deliciously terrible fast food.
pbnwhey Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I just want cake and an oreo milkshake....it's a good thing I lift weights every day, because the cake is definitely happening tonight. This whole waiting thing is going by faster this year, but I just want to find out about the rest of the decisions so I can feel justified in accepting my offer haha.
pterosaur Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Curse you! You made me pull out the mint m&ms and start chowing down.

Mint M&Ms.....my mind has just been blown! This is a thing that exists?! Also, @WendyWonderland I totally misread that as you putting chocolate into your Chinese food, and became scared and confused.

However, we have coca cola chicken and beer duck in China, both taste fabulous! Where did u apply? I offer to make it for u guys if we end up in the same city/ school. I am currently not stress eating anymore. The anxiety has taken away my appetite.
Cat_Robutt Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 @WendyWonderland beer duck sounds amazing! I'm in Los Angeles, applied to Penn State, Southern Illinois, University of Oregon, Indiana University Bloomington... Having a post-grad app party with lots of wine and chocolate sounds like it would be immensely helpful.
pterosaur Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 @Cat_Robutt - as someone who plans to research bio-inspired robots for my PhD - your username is amazing.

teacherM7 Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 Guacamole and Girl Scout cookies...and maybe chocolate stout.
seaweed sheets Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Coffee, coffee, whiskey, and Red Hot Blues cornchips.
fennecfox Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Anything (everything?) that Starbucks has. Their seasonal drinks (chestnut praline over the holidays, and molten chocolate for Valentine's Day) are incredibly dangerous.
