How long should we wait before we presume a rejection? UC Boulder released four of their acceptances today, and so far my inbox is empty. But it is only the first day.

I saw that the prediction for Georgetown was the 19th - do they usually release on Fridays, or is there a chance that they could start sending out earlier, between now and then?

I guess it doesn't really matter (they'll get in touch whenever they get in touch), but I'm trying to manage my expectations a bit. :P

Oddly enough, they've exclusively started releasing on Fridays for the past for years, according to my data. I would expect the first to come out on a Friday.

I say tomorrow, then!

Here's hoping for notifications from UNC, CH & UW-Madison tonight!

And Brown! A girl can dream...

About a dozen programs sent out their responses at least a week earlier than predicted, so you'd think I'd be lucky enough to have applied to maybe one of them, right? Nooooo. My programs are all stubbornly on-schedule. At best I'll get my first piece of news in a week.

Ahh same here (almost). Something related to one of the Murphy's laws? :P

Murphy's Law (generalized): whenever it's possible to state any vaguely related variant of Murphy's laws in a particular situation to your own detriment, that variant will hold.

I feel you here.

I've got an anonymous source telling me that UNC will most likely not release today or even Monday because of how much work they still have for the weekend. Most likely, the source tells me, they will be done next Friday with a possibility of it being next Wednesday.

All this talk of anonymous sources has me picturing a discreet, undercover Jac exchanging briefcases with strange people in trench coats and big hats.

Aww, 'tis a shame. Merci quand-même.

1. Trench coats, yes.

2. I'll see what Nat can do about Riverside. Probably not much since they are very unpredictable ranging from late January to late February and a bit in between in the past four years. I pretty much randomly selected a date. Nat and I are still trying to figure out good ground rules for emailing/calling and I'm unsure what the consensus is on asking before anything has been sent out when they're still within their release date ranges. (Hopefully that all makes sense.)

3. Notre Dame--I would say relatively consistent and should come out today or any day next week. Last year, they came out on the 18th. Earlier years, they came out on the 13th twice and 1st one.

Also, just received information about Riverside. They just began reading applications last week and while I'm not sure how long the process takes I don't think it'll be even by next week.

Now, I didn't apply to UC Riverside, but: really? Like, actually? It blows my mind that they can get started this late.

Yeah. That's what I was told. It might be wrong, but the message seems honest to me.

Might have to get my sock mask.

In case anyone is interested, I have heard from an inside source that Villanova is finalizing right now and people will hear if they're being invited to interview at the end of next week.

Yes, this is very interesting. Interesting indeed.

Thank you!

My advisor just informed me that a friend of hers at Rutgers said they would make their decisions by the end of then last week of February, and thus that we would be informed early March. No surprise there but at least we can be sure not to expect a surprise. (My advisor also told me not to worry, which paradoxically made me neurotic; does she know something?)

I noticed on the DePaul Facebook page that they are running their graduate conference this weekend - this might have some bearing on when we'd hear from them.

Edit: I said that and literally two minutes later someone else posted an interview offer. So..
