It does. :) What do you guys do to calm the nerves?

Luckily I'm swamped with work and extra projects I've taken the lead on so my anxiety is more of a gentle hum in the back of a crowded room. Most of the time.

Getting on here to see I'm not the only one helps, for sure. It also does the opposite, of course. Hiking/walking outside usually takes my edge off but in dead of winter it's not so easy to do. Today was pretty nice though so spending several hours outside was calming. What do you do @day_manderly?

Hiking/running/walking is good, I do it, too, a lot. :) Especially running - hard to worry about anything but legs hurting when you are on your N mile.

No, I haven't. I'm not in the US so initially I preferred not to pay for the call. Now I just find it weird that nobody is answering me.

@PirateJenny I don't know if this is local to Skype where I am (South Asia) but calls to US are completely free of cost for me. I don't have any sort of a payment plan or business account or anything special. They've generally been really good quality - super clear - but do have an annoying delay of a second most of the time. I usually let whoever I'm speaking know I'm calling from abroad and using Skype so there might be a delay... and apologise in advance for any inadvertent talking-over one another! :P

Hello All,

I just stumbled upon this site and am so glad to have found you.

After applying to seven programs by the Dec. 1 deadline, I've been sat here all alone with my excitement/anxiety.

but now I've got all of you to commiserate and (hopefully) celebrate with for the rest of this application season! Yippee!

So far I have received one informal offer from UC Santa Cruz during a phone interview on 1/12/17.

Good luck everyone!

@Plane_Jane Congrats on the informal offer!! I went to UCSC for undergrad and currently work in undergrad admissions. It's a beautiful campus!

Hi, everyone!

I'm applying for an Ed.M. at Columbia TC and Penn. I'll list my stats below. Let me know what you think of my stats and shot at these programs.

Undergrad GPA/Major: 3.41/Physics

Undergrad Institution: Famous LAC (Top 20, probably, one of the "Little Ivies") ~ graduated over 4 years ago

Grad GPA/Major: 4.00/Science Education

Grad Institution: Public City University

GRE: 163 V/167 Q/5.0 AW

Experience: 5 years teaching experience, 2+ years of relevant experience to the program I'm applying to, & 2+ years in ed tech PT work on the side, Teaching Fellows/The New Teacher Project (similar to TFA)

Program Requirements: Teaching experience, 1 year minimum of relevant experience in the field

Does time passing between applying to grad school and finishing my undergrad make a difference, like some people say?

Thank you, everyone! :)

Are you going for a second Masters? To which programs did you apply?

You will likely get into both Masters programs, based on what I see here. Good luck.

Yep, I'm going for my second Master's. I'll PM you the programs I'm applying to. Long story.

Thanks - let's hope. Fingers crossed. I see that your application season is also Fall 2017. Where are you applying/which programs are you applying to?

With a similar resume and lower scores, I was accepted into the following EdM programs: TC, Penn, Michigan, and Ohio State. This was several years ago, am going for a PhD now, but I was accepted everywhere I applied to and my guess is you will be, as well. Best of luck!

Thanks, hopeful. Congrats on getting into those schools! Which program(s) did you apply for? Also, do you find that time passing between undergrad and grad app season means that your most recent degree matters more?

Thanks! Leadership.

Do you mean in terms of GPA? I'm not sure I understand your question. I taught for a number of years before getting my EdM, if that's what you mean. Others in my program had 2-10 years or so of work experience.

@midmarsh - I just heard from Vanderbilt too. Got accepted. :) Very relieved to have one acceptance in hand - makes the waiting process more bearable!
