JustChill Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 How old is everyone going to be at the start of your programs? I'll be 24.
Nikki Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 If I get accepted and start in the fall, I'll be 30.
soleprovider14 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 If I'm accepted for Fall I'll be 22.
LifeIsGood Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 (edited) I'll be 39 in four days. Happy birthday to me! I'm hoping my age will be more of an asset than a hindrance. My rather unusual professional experiences over the last 15 years might show the admissions committee that I'm ambitious and self-directed. Fingers crossed. Edited December 31, 2009 by LifeIsGood
tourist Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Like Rockchalk, I'll be 24 if I get accepted fall of 2010.
natsteel Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I will be 35 when I go through the application process this coming Fall.
gildedProgressive Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I'm a former lurker hoping to get more active in the forum! IF I am accepted into school, I will start at the ripe old age of 23.

Kai210 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I will be 32 when I start my doctoral program in the Fall.
kahlan_amnell Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) I was 25 when I started my MA, and 27 when I started my Ph.D. The grad students in my current department range in age from 22 through 50 something. Edited January 24, 2010 by kahlan_amnell

My rather unusual professional experiences over the last 15 years might show the admissions committee that I'm ambitious and self-directed. Fingers crossed. I found that to be the case; the only denial I received was from a very small program that gave preference to west coasters. I started my MA program in September, at the tail end of my 40th year.
hopkinsgirl Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Are you serious? yeah... but i mean, i'm graduating from college this year. on the one hand, i think it can be hard to come it at a young age to a grad program, but my parents are both academics so i think i have a pretty good idea of what the deal entails (more so than a lot of other students my age i think)
