Question for Hopkins applicants - a bunch of people have been posting in the results about seeing their status in the portal. Is that referring to the website accessed through mypath.jhsph.edu? I'm not seeing anything change in there for my application. Feeling very nervous!!

Has anyone heard back from the Columbia Epi PhD program?  In an interview a couple of weeks ago (beginning of Feb), they mentioned that we should hear back within 1-2 weeks, so I'm feeling very anxious!

So when I was admitted to Hopkins (IH department) I just got an email with a letter of admission. The application was through SOPHAS so I didn't have a portal to log into.

Good to know, thanks! And congrats on your acceptance.

Argh, so frustrating to spend another Friday anxiously waiting, and having a whole weekend to get through again. Was really hoping this was the week to hear back.

Just called Columbia about Sociomedical, and they said decisions would come out next week "sometime."

Thanks so much for the heads up!  I'm not holding my breath, but I just want to KNOW, lol.    Was anyone who applied to Sociomedical contacted at all (apart from the the financial thing) since applying?

I believe you are waiting for 1 of the 2 PHN spots.

Yeah, unfortunately, I think you are probably right. Congratulations on your acceptance to the Epi track!

Can someone claim the Hopkins Health, Behavior, Society PhD decision (rejection)? I am logged on to my portal but there's still no update and I applied to the same dept.

Is anyone here applying for a spot at OHSU, Oregon State, or out in Colorado? I'm seeing Harvard, Columbia, Emory (the usual, ha!) but no mention of other programs...

And here I was checking the results section every second! I don't think we are going to hear back until like 2 weeks later because they said "next week" LOL It is NEVER "next week"  I know I don`t stand a chance but this is my first choice! Which stream?

Originally, the person who answered the phone at Columbia said March 15th, but then someone in the background wanted to know what department I was calling about. When phone person said sociomedical, background person said something to the effect of "oh, no, those are out sometime next week," which phone person then relayed back to me. That makes me feel fairly confident about next week. I'm anthro, btw.

Hello,

i assume you applied to social n behavioral science track at NYU from your name? I emailed them on Wed. They told me they are "still in the process of viewing". Have you heard anything after you posted?

If anyone else who attended the interview at NYU has additional info to share, please do! Much appreciated!

I have agreed to respond yes/no to another offer in a week, this is definitely a nerve-racking wait as I like NYU better. Hope they will let us know one way or another this coming week!

Good luck everyone!

Hi, I'm wondering if you have heard anything since. I haven't heard anything from NYU since I submitted my application in mid November. I've seen several interviews and rejections on the result page, so the radio silence is really frustrating. Anyway, good luck and hope you get good news soon!

Hi Pancakeeater and everyone,

If you are wondering about the PhD program at NYU, my understanding is that they interviewed everyone on campus (or via skype if in-person is not an option) on Feb 10. Person in charge of admissions informed me that they will release decisions around next week. Hope it helps. Best wishes for everyone!

Oh! That is promising. Hope we all hear some good news next week then :) I applied to psyc stream

Congratulations! And thanks. Would you mind sharing how you found out? I am on the Hopkins portal and it just says "application sent for review." What did your page say? Did you get an email? Did you interview with them at all? Thanks!

Anyone wanna claim one of the two UCLA Community Health Sciences PhD acceptances on Feb 17? Did they interview? How was the decision conveyed? I don't see any changes on my Decision Desk. UCLA is my top choice! Would really hurt to be rejected by them. Also my alma mater.

I am new to this forum and cannot claim one of those actual posts, but I did get an unofficial acceptance to the same program at UCLA via email on Feb 16. And then that was followed up with the official acceptance/funding letter via email on Feb 23. They did not mention whether they are done extending offers, so there may still be hope for you. I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you! I hope so! What did you mean by unofficial acceptance?

In terms of funding, if one is to be working 20 hours a week as part of their PhD package, how much can one expect to earn?

One university told me that the 20h packages are fairly uniform across universities. Is this true?

First and foremost, I noticed the night before I received the letter that the "Application Sent for Review" page disappeared. So when that page goes away, expect a decision very soon. My understanding is that it happens no matter the outcome; so don't assume rejection. The morning after my page disappeared, I received a letter and the rejection was in the email. So I didn't have to go into the portal. I didn't interview.

Thank you! Probably getting rejected. lol.
